  1. Yes this episode had the best engineer drubbing since Brett tried to take over the Teaser Freezer, but let's not forget how funny the Good Will Hunting bit was. I'm not sure why comedians are so drawn to making fun of Good Will Hunting but it's always gold (e.g. PFT as Werner Herzog making a sequel where Good Will Hunting uses his skills as both a math genius and a janitor... sorry to mention the other show). Anyway, I wonder if we'll ever find out who was really being Good Will Hunting. I think maybe it was that hard math problem he could do.

Yep, Speakeasy is great, although I guess I can only bring the tally to about 3.5 viewers since I don't watch every episode.

I don't make a point of watching it but whenever I've come across one of the interviews (usually via the youtube sidebar after watching some other PFT content) I'm struck by how he is roughly one zillion percent better at interviewing than Marc Maron. He's a thoughtful, engaged, prepared interviewer, three things that don't describe Maron's approach.

Any of the early ones with experienced improvisers, like #5 the first PFT.

Or just start with episode 1. It's not the best episode, but it's pretty darn good. I like that in the first episode they seemed quite nice and Sean said the log line. They were so naive back then!

The first Teaser Freezer with Gordon Joseph-Levitt's "Don Jon" way back in episode 1 is what sold me on the show. I think it's still one of the funniest things they've done. I'm not sure how well the Jake Johnson interview would hold up if I re-listened now, but if nothing else it has the origin of "Mimby"

  4. Shout-out to Michael for handling himself gracefully and funnily. I wish it didn't take a big-money donor to get PFT and Daly (and Lapkus) on the same episode, though. PFT and Daly are so great when they team up -- remember Dalton Wilcox's literary agent? Would be great to have more heavy hitters together more often! Can't argue with the results here.

  5. I can't deal with this, I don't deserve something as wonderful as this episode. Also want to point out that the guys helping read the ads were funny and nice and smart and good.

PFT Santa should be an annual tradition but in March instead of December. The fact that he and Ho Ho were on this completely non-seasonal episode made them that much funnier.

  6. Maybe American Diaper meant the popcorn gallery theme is "bad" in the old slang sense where bad means "good." Then he would be saying that the popcorn gallery theme is good. It's possible this was all a misunderstanding. The popcorn gallery theme is objectively good because it is helping Hayes and Sean's guests understand the segment because otherwise they would never fucking get it.

  7. Unrelated to this episode but can I just share that my favorite one-off HH bit was when they kept yelling "yeah right" at Pete Holmes about how he wasn't afraid of skellingtons. Part of me wishes they would bring that back but part of me wants it to live on as a special singular moment. For some reason nothing makes me laugh more than thinking about Sean saying "Sorry, but that's a yeah right"

  8. OH MY GOD I'M FINALLY CAUGHT UP

I love this show so much but I felt like I couldn't post in the forum until I got all the way caught up. I listened to all 72 episodes in less than two months. This show is the funniest thing in the world. Don't tell Scott Anchorman but I even like it more than the show with the riddle game even though my username is a Scott Anchorman reference.
