Right out of the gate! Mary Holland is incredible.

I'm still bummed about Rocky.

"So are you some sort of trainer to the stars... seeking stars?"
Based on the bit with the dogs, I'd say that's pretty likely.

I think if you go back and find the thread about voting for the 2015 Best Ofs
Speaking of, the voting is still up! My fingers are crossed for Hee Hee to crack the top 10!

Did nobody link the Lazy Susan?
I believe this is the video to which Paul was referring.

OH GOD! That movie! Wasn't there a guy that just discovered jerking off in it?
You mean this guy?

When they brought up Lou Diamond Phillips, something compelled me to pause the podcast and watch The Big Hit in its entirety before resuming CBB.
I feel like it totally holds up today.

I'm pretty sure this is what they were going for with the elephant pilot.

Anybody else think Jeremy sorta sounds like David Wain?

Tiny's Thulsa Doom impression just made me spit milk and cheerios all over the floor.
Right? I still chuckle from time to time over Victor's Dune impressions from their last appearance.
Mr. Small's got exceptional taste.

Somebody make a supercut of all the MY-LA / MEE-LA back-and-forth action.
And then launch it into the sun so that nobody has to listen to it.

I noticed that guy Josh used the term "transhuman" which is common in sci-fi and specifically Warhammer 40k, Which would make sense as the whole view of the universe featuring humans on other planets makes an easy lead in to this movie, where as someone who isn't already a sci-fi nerd would feel this movie way harder to approach.

5. The Ranger Creed does have something about not leaving your comrades behind – well, kind of: “I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.” (http://en.wikipedia....ki/Ranger_Creed)
Soon as I heard him bring it up I checked through 8 pages of comments to see if anybody had already gone to the trouble of making the correction. Well done.

My fave pun-based restaurant would be the Wieners Circle in Lincoln Park, but that's mostly because of the verbal abuse.

FUCK YES I love The Guard. It's done by John Michael McDonagh, the same writer/director who did Calvary. Anyone who enjoys this podcast would probably love The Guard since, on its surface it is a buddy cop movie, so you get those "contrast in style and background" tropes and jokes, but it manages to do some fantastic and original things with the genre. The movie displays a herculean effort in how unique and immediately enjoyable it is. Please watch both these films, you guys. Calvary is much more tragic, but both movies have weight.
* bump *
This looks WAY better than Lake Placid. Motion to all watch The Guard and discuss til the next ep comes out.

I'm occasionally struck by British idioms popping up on the HDTGM podcast that I thought were unknown across the pond. I'm sure Paul or Jason referred to as idea being "nicked" from another film recently...
Ha, yeah.
I bet since "hoi polloi" is Greek, though, he probably just nicked that one from Mantzoukas.

This is a two-part question:
Would this movie be better if the crocodile could talk?
And, would the talking crocodile be better if voiced by Nicolas Cage?
Let's write that movie.
ALL of us.

"Hoi polloi."
On the other hand, Paul's use of "gobsmacked" was on point.
