Robin Crew (Olivia d'Abo) is a high school student who used to be a champion gymnast until she suffered a knee injury in the car accident which killed her father. She continues to train on her own and makes her school's gymnastics team, despite outside pressures from her step-father and the other gymnasts. Robin does, however, receive support from her mother and her new boyfriend (Keanu Reeves), as the crucial gymnastics meet approaches. This movie tries really hard to be Dirty Dancing or Flashdance and gets it all wrong in a way that is so right. Young Keanu Reeves. 80s tropes. 80s music. A bobo Tilda Swinton gymnastics coach with a mullet. Dead parents. Terrible writing. Lots and lots of things that make no sense. A highly enjoyable 90 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrabbRouYyU

I'm surprised to not find this already listed. Its a big budget film, relatively recent, with a strange should-have-seen-it-coming misstep (Reeves thrown into the story as half-Japanese) and it apparently failed to earn what was spent to film it. Throw in a panicked production with re-writes, edits and no advanced screenings. Sound like the hosts could have fun with it.

Jason said there hasn't been any "devil" movies in a while, but I'd point him to "Constantine", which features everyone's favorite crazy-Russian-from-Armageddon, Peter Stormare, playing Lucifer himself. And who is Stormare opposite of? KEANU REEVES. So if you want a "devil" movie, get Keanu and the rest will take care of itself. I also liked that Julie mentioned they played "Paint in Black" instead of "Sympathy for the Devil" in the end. Interestingly enough, almost exactly three months later, "Fallen" with Denzil Washington closes on "Sympathy of the Devil" at the credits. There's a message somewhere in there. Keep up the good work!
