AndrewGoll posted a topic in Hard NationOur favorite political talk radio show has now become a podcast here on Earwolf. So we don't forget those great "live" radio shows you heard when aired, please post your favorite live interviews/moments: I had a hard time myself coming up with one, when we all know they're so many! But one that jumps out at me, and was especially inspiring, was the "live" interview with Joseph McCarthy. We learned the best ways to turn in your closets friends and family. Also how easy it can be to sound or act like a Commi. And unfortunately for EVEN Mark, McCarthy's paranoia spotted some Commi in him... Classic McCarthy and classic ep. I'll also never forget Teddy Roosevelt ep. How they recorded the live radio show while heading to the hospital just after Teddy was shot in front of the Milwaukee Gilpatrick Hotel, I'll never know. Taking an interview while having just been shot, what a man! Can't wait to hear your favorites!
Below is a link to a rather lengthy feature I wrote on the history of the comedy podcast boom. Huge thanks to Scott Aukerman and Randy and Jason Sklar for speaking with me. It's been a long road from starting my research, doing a dozen interviews, writing it, spending far too much time sending unsolicited pitches to editors way out of my league, then re-writing it a bunch, but now it's finally available. I hope ya'll enjoy it. http://splitsider.co...y-podcast-boom/ As a bonus, if you visit my blog (link below) there is a one-off podcast featuring clips from the interviews that were used in this article plus James Adomian being hilarious as usual. And the entire audio of 'The Podfathers' panel from last year's Montreal Just for Laughs Festival Conference is also on my blog (the panel included Marc Maron, Greg Proops, Chris Hardwick, Paul F. Tompkins and Scott Mosier). www.joeygee.com
