timbwiseman 0 Posted April 9, 2013 It isn't just that I didn't enjoy "The Croods", it's that it literally had no plot aside from avoiding giant pits of lava. Plus Nick Cage doing voice acting. HDTGM hasn't ventured into animation yet, but this is where it should start. Share this post Link to post

It has a plot; a family has to journey through a new and dangerous land (and also learn how to abandon their old ways and embrace new ideas) in search of a new home/safety. I didn't expect much but I thought it was pretty enjoyable, and there were a lot of things I was impressed by purely as an animation nerd. Â The pits of lava represent the trenches of emotional despair in all of us, and the Grug character is a stand-in for the God-force itself. Do you not understand symbolism?
