As a hardcore Mets fan, I have to clarify and defend them on the Wright story. The Cougar Life promotion didn't actually happen, and it went down pretty much exactly the way the Sklars said it should have. Someone in the team's marketing department came up with the idea and proposed it to their boss, who immediately shot it down, and the story somehow leaked to someone in the media who decided it was worth reporting.
