DanWhite 1 Posted May 29, 2014 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U2_(EP) Â You guys should do an episode about this U2 EP by Negativland. Â The songs within were parodies of the group U2's well-known 1987 song, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", including kazoos and extensive sampling of the original song. The song "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (Special Edit Radio Mix)" features a musical backing to an extended profane rant from well-known disc jockey Casey Kasem, lapsing out of his more polished and professional tone during a frustrating taping, which was captured by several engineers, who had been passing it around for a number of years. One of Kasem's milder comments, after trying to deliver a run-down of U2's line-up, was "These guys are from England and who gives a shit?" U2's members are from the Republic of Ireland. Â You should be able to discuss this for at least 35 to 45 seconds before veering off into wild tangents about God knows what, right? Â Anyway, I love this podcast! Keep it up! 1 Share this post Link to post
hypnotizingchickens 1025 Posted May 29, 2014 I'm a huge fan of Negativland and I always secretly hoped that Scott or Scott would bring this album up... but regardless, it's nice to see someone else out there appreciates this absurdly genius band that fought the good fight in favor of fair use and the art of Plunderphonics  http://en.wikipedia..../Plunderphonics  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqse3vYcnaU Share this post Link to post
