A Trip to the Moon is iconic and seminal and groundbreaking, but not much else at this point. Its trial for The Canon would help define what The Canon is.

 

A very nice restoration print is on netflix, so it should be pretty easy to watch.

That's a pretty awsome idea. I think since this film is in public domain, it's easily watchable on vimeo or youtube.
