DRP 0 Posted July 5, 2011 "New York 2095. In a strange pyramid floating in the sky, the gods of ancient Egypt are judging Horus. In the city, a young women with blue hair and tears is arrested, but she has a secret power, even to herself..." - IMDB synopsis. Here's the trailer: http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi1453850905/ The movie was directed by the European comic book artist Enki Bilal, and based on his book The Nikopol Trilogy. Part Blade Runner, part The Fifth Element, and mostly a fever dream. Immortal is made completely of WTF moments: A futuristic-ancient pyramid hovering over New York, completely unexplained; Horus (The Egyptian God) making a prosthetic leg out of a subway track using his "laser eyes"; A red hammer-head shark swimming through the sewers, and on the sides of buildings; An unhealthy mix of real actors and CG human characters in the same scenes; Small CG cartoon characters that come out of bathroom walls to hand people their toothbrushes...or guns; A plot Columbo couldn't decipher. This movie has it all. I had no idea what was going on from scene to scene, and I was putting in every effort. The next day, I honestly took a beat to make sure I hadn't dreamt I'd watched it. Folks, there was money put into this film. While no Blade Runner or The Fifth Element, this was not a cheap project. I can't imagine it came close to making it's money back. HDTGM?!
