JulyDiaz 2797 Posted October 18, 2016 About four years ago, director Alex Horwitz began bugging his friend Lin-Manuel Miranda to film him as he worked on his latest project: a set of songs about Alexander Hamilton. Miranda wasn't sure yet if they would become a show or a concept album.  "I don't really care," Horwitz recalls telling Miranda. "I just want to follow you telling history— whatever form that takes."  Hamilton's America, the resulting documentary, premieres Friday, October 21st on PBS.  Horwitz discusses meeting Miranda as freshmen at Wesleyan University, filming with President Obama at the White House and the abysmal things America's founders said about one another.
