Question about the 9's & 10's

I am surely showing my ignorance here, but after listening to all 65 (and counting) podcasts, I get all the little details of our beloved calming shores, with the exception of the numbers for the booth/production person. "Doug on the 5's and 6's". I've heard of DJs being on the 1's and 2's, but wasn't sure if this was what it was referencing or something else entirely.
Can anybody help a fellow Henderson?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it refers to the DJ thing and with every new engineer the numbers go up.
