Anyone else think Robyn Lively looked a lot like Kata Mara in this movie? Especially in her face. My wife and I couldn't put our finger on who she looked like and when it came to us, we couldn't stop seeing it. Either way, she was really cute in this. But I think she looked best in between the whole "sweaters/long skirts" religious look and the "crazy hair, crazy amount of lipstick" popular girl look.

Biggest scene stealer of the whole movie? The dancing cholo in the convertible. Orale vato!

Well, these may be the weirdest musical numbers I've ever seen in a movie.

Oh shit, Blank Check was numero uno in terms of most watched VHS tapes when I was a kid. My brother and I were OBSESSED. A waterslide going out of your house? YES PLEASE. And remember in the 90s before flatscreens when the cool thing was to have a giant "TV" made up of individual TVs?

I didn't listen through the mini ep far enough (sorry Paul!) but as fate would have it, I'm also finally into it (just subscribed!) and I'm listening through the Manson story right now. I have an odd fascination with cults/killers and the whole story is, as Zouks might say "BONKERS." Charles Manson is a terrifying man in ways you wouldn't even think of.

OH GOD PLEASE DO COP AND A HALF FOR ONE EP! I haven't seen it in forever but this is the movie where the kid sings the national anthem any time he gets scared/nervous right? I rented the hell out of this movie on VHS as a kid.

This sounds like one my wife would actually want to watch me...and yes, maybe I'm a little excited to see it.

I would say I'm hopeful, maybe cautiously optimistic. I certainly wouldn't blame our hosts if they got too busy to have it continue as a regular thing. The show ending because they get so much work would be the best reason for it to end!

I don't see it ending as a result of indifference or disinterest-it just seems our fearless hosts are busier and busier these days and it gets to a certain point...

Why do I get a sinking feeling the show may be ending soon?

I'm so glad that even though I wasn't able to watch the movie, this episode is so great. I was especially thrilled to see Andy Richter as the guest, the man is one of my favorites. This movie sounds BONKERS.

$56 at the cheapest on Amazon, not streaming anywhere. Welp, guess I'm not watching the movie for this week.

I'll definitely give you that it peaked early. I had seen this years ago but watched it again last night and thought "Wow, that rescue happened really early on." The last 3 was a little dull.

Jason, thank you for sticking up for this movie. I find it really goofy and odd fun. The fact that it was pretty clear it was filmed on a backlot just kind of lended itself to the weird, otherworldly feel. And yeah Moranis was great, it was so cool to see him in that role.

Oooooh man this is gonna be fun. I saw this movie a couple years ago on a date as part of a special program at the local film center in Denver. I was pretty tipsy during it (you can get beer at this theater!) but remember it was cheesy fun. If memory serves, Rick Moraines plays a super sleazy character and it was really fun to see him play someone like that instead of the kind of awkward nerd he typically played.

God, I love that sketch. "Make no mistake Magic Johnson, I will fucking end you."

Started to listen to the ep but haven't watched the movie yet...think I'll do that this weekend and finish. BUT I have to say something. I've had a super shitty week. It's been tough. But damned if the show didn't pick my spirits up like crazy. Zouks coming out and saying "MERRY CHRISTMAS ASSHOLES!" made me laugh uncontrollably and I realized how happy you guys make me. Sorry for the sap, just had to say it.

So mini ep on a Wednesday...does that mean the new ep is dropping like next Thursday? This all makes me feel like a very confused old man. HOOLIGANS.

I think I'm just gonna listen to enough of the minisodes to hear what movie is next and leave it there from now on

Omission #2: NO comments on the hilariously awkward toothpick move? If I were at the show I'd have asked if they thought it was an actor's choice, a director's choice, or if it was in the script...

Absolutely loved the episode. Ders was a great guest and the conversation was excellent. OMISSION (all caps with the hope it's read on this week's mini-sode): How did you not cover Sparky saying she got John's letter...and WHEELCHAIR?! Look it's a nice thought and sweet, but damned if I didn't burst out laughing at that. It's almost like an FU. "Sorry you're paralyzed. Here's a wheelchair."

That really bugs me too, and now I can't get one...dammit.

Forget this weird "Housewives" miniseries, I want a miniseries that's just Paul's stories of working at Blockbuster!
