That is EXACTLY what I thought of. I've got a weird thing where I find shots of obvious dummies falling off a cliff/falling in general to be "I can't breathe" levels of funny.
-
Guys...guys. Just when I thought it couldn't get any more bonkers, Chuck Norris' mom is confounded that he doesn't know it's Hitler's birthday. I...I can't process this.

Holy cow...this movie is comedy gold so far. The boat scene? "Wait, hold it! i'm a cop." "I don't care." BLAM And when they threw the dog into the water...almost had to pause I was laughing so hard. I am so, so excited to hear Zouks' thoughts on this movie.

Ya'll got that mini episode coming? Daddy needs his fix! -
EPISODE 115 — Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!

Zouks looks like he's a drummer for a cool progressive rock band in this picture. I think it's the pose. -
EPISODE 115 — Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!
OoofMaGOOF replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Love the episode, always happy to have new HDTGM! But man oh man, hearing this movie described, I am very happy I chose not to watch it. I even like watching movies like Nothing But Trouble because it's soooooo bizarre and fascinating, but this is such and oddly annoying trendy thing that tries too hard (in my opinion) to be whacky and dumb. But again, having said that...really enjoyed the ep. -
I will fully admit I let out a groan when I heard this week's movie...bad with the intention of being bad isn't as fun to me. Might be one where I just listen to the show without watching. Still love you guys!

I'm really glad they all recommended watching this in the end, and noted it's a fun goofy movie. This is one of those episodes where I was just on the same wave length as everyone the entire time. But man, they made me realize that what separates this and something like Blade Runner is the humanizing element. The question of hunting down human-like androids that have implanted memories and emotions and think they're human VS stopping a boxy robot who somehow got a gun in his claw...yeah. Not many emotional stakes in the latter.
-
The visual of Gene Simmons handing a gun to the little box robot absolutely slayed me. Totally not something I thought about, but when they brought it up I thought it was brilliant.

What a happy surprise to see this in my Podcast feed after Paul said it might be delayed! Halfway through and loving it. Jason seems giddy, I'm curious to hear whether or not he'd recommend it...

Why did they change the theme song?
OoofMaGOOF replied to Ribelin2000's topic in How Did This Get Made?
If you don't like the new theme, there's always the handy "skip 15 seconds" button if you're using a iPod/iPhone...or, we can all keep complaining on the internet. RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE! -
Man, what a bummer that movie was. We're set up with killer robots and an interesting future, and after the tense rescue scene...it's another boring police thriller. Like, they did jack shit with the robots. Boo.
-
Just started the movie...already think it's some goofy fun. I'm a huge Chricton fan, I read almost all his stuff as a kid. I remember being pretty broken up when he passed away.

Just so everyone is aware, Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers is on Netflix. I watched 2/3 of it yesterday. It's fucking bizarre-it tries to be a dark meta horror comedy, but it's so cheaply and poorly made it's just super weird. The sort of twist to it is revealed at the very beginning and is cool, and then it wears thin VERY quickly.

And I love you Paul, but your pronunciation of "Mario" is like nails on a chalkboard...

When Reddy Edmaine screamed "I CREATE LIFE!" followed by a shy whispering of "and I destroy it." made me emit the biggest PFFFFTTTTTT of my entire life. My fiancee, who wanted to see this in the theater (I refused) did admit after we watched it "Yeah...that was pretty bad." I like how Jason was just so baffled by how bad this movie was that he almost wasn't on his usual level of snark. That's how much it affected this poor man. Also, guests were excellent this week! And I really want to check out both their podcast. I've had a rough 2 weeks so I'm so happy you guys could deliver a super entertaining podcast to lift my spirits. Real talk.

I'm about 20 minutes in. This is like watching some random dude's movie, which he said was going to be super original and crazy and mind blowing, but it's just cheesy as hell and goofy in a not-so-good way. WHYYYYYYYY ETA: Why not just call this "CGI: The Movie"?

Watching this tonight...with lots of beer at the ready. LET'S DO THIS, JERKS.

EPISODE 111 — Hercules in New York: LIVE!

Cheers! Turtles 2 is a movie that I'd watch anywho, so what's the harm? -
EPISODE 111 — Hercules in New York: LIVE!
OoofMaGOOF replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Is it safe to assume next week's ep will Turtles 3 Live? -
Ahhhhh yes another horrible editing problem-TERRIBLE sound editing. Car noise in one shot, then a reverse shot, car noise is gone. The editing in this movie just dreadful...
-
I've watched that scene twice now (I watched the first 20 minutes, then had to watch a couple days later and just started over) and the second time I saw it, the thought of him waving all friendly to those women as he flew by just cracked me the hell up for some reason. And can we talk about her hat?!
-
Yipes that was one horribly directed movie! And the editing was just...weird. But it was enjoyable, in its own way. Good? No. Enjoyable? Yes. So whacky to me it cut back and forth between the streets of NYC and a total "fish out of water" situation, and a theatrical (like play theatrical) set with people walking around in togas and speaking like they're in Shakespeare.
-
Only 20 minutes in and have to finish it today, but it's so hilarious how clunky the action is. It's like they have that thing going on where they rolled, said action, and everyone went at it (like normal). Except in editing, they didn't cut the part where they were set before action. So it cuts, and it's Arnie standing there awkwardly, and then and he'll run equally awkwardly with a giant plank of wood and just knock guys into the water. What a gem.
