Yeah, it's on Netflix. I think he was just giving alternatives.
Â
Thank ya kindly!

I would also like to wholeheartedly endorse 'What We Do In The Shadows.' It's so consistently hilarious and manages to do new things with both the mockumentary and vampire genres, which is pretty remarkable. <3
Â
It was so great how cleverly they addressed vampire lore-like not being able to get into nightclubs unless the bouncer invites them in. Like most everything Jemaine Clement is involved in (except maybe Dinner For Schmucks), it's really funny and charming.
Â
On the subject of this week's movie, after hearing Paul's setup and the trailer, I get the feeling that this is a movie I could geniuinely enjoy.
Â
Though my slight confusion lies in Paul saying it's on Netflix before the trailer, but then saying we'd have to get it on iTunes...anyone know if it's by any chance streaming on Netflix right now?

Hey Everyone,
Â
Just a Quick Clarification...The release dates haven't changed. The actual schedule is supposed to be Fridays for both. The Minis getting released later have really been due to an insane shooting schedule, I've been dealing with and I've been a bit swamped during the week. So a few have come out later than they were supposed to. It should get back on track. I figured it's better to hit the Big Ep dates then push them too.

Â
It's okay, we still love you Paul! Keep up the good work my friend.
-
By the way Paul, there are Os in "Dorothy"...

It was great to have June back, but felt like a verrrrrrrry different show without Zouks-there didn't seem to be any manic energy that gets me going and cracks me up.
Â
That's not to say I didn't like it! I did, it just felt very different.
Â
June thinking the little man was a puppet or "some kind of animatronic" was amazzzzzzing.
Â
Also, can we make the remix of the theme happen every other episode or so? I'm a little over it

Starting it now...coincidentally, I was listening to another podcast that was talking about the disaster of making this film.
Â
Should be interesting, to say the least!

Soooooo...are minisodes happening on Mondays now?
Â
I appreciate the show Paul and Co but dammit if today isn't particularly a day that I could use some HDTGM to get me through...

They didn't mention it on the show, but my favorite kookoo bananas moment that was so ridiculously John Woo...when they're inciting the riot and escaping the prison. Cagevolta finds some canister of acid (because why not?) flings it up perfectly between 2 guards, SHOOTS IT PERFECTLY like it's goddamn skeet shooting, acid all over the guards.
Â
That shit had me rolling.

This episode, in the word of Zouks, fuckkkkkkkking KILLED IT.
Â
I may have made a Wikipedia edit with June's insight...

It's always an experience trying to convince my fiancee to watch the movies for this podcast ahead of them. Here's how this week's conversation went:
Â
Me: "Hey, want to watch Con Air this week?"
Â
Her: "Ummmmm...who's in it?
Â
Me: "Nicola Ca-
Â
Her: "No."
Â
DAMMIT

I gotta say I like Leann Rimes' version better. I'm not a big fan of country music, but Leann Rimes has one of those voices, sort of like Carrie Underwood, where she's so good that its almost impossible not to notice it.
Â
Also, am I to understand that song was written for this movie?! Because that would be, as Zooks says, "Totally koko bananas."
-
Oh man, I picture Zooks listening to this minisode, hearing all these mistakes, and slowly boiling in rage.
Â
"There are no holes in this movie...there are NO holes in this movie...THERE ARE NO HOLES IN THIS MOVIE!"
Â
Genuinely excited for Face/Off in any case, but also hoping the next one is a studio episode.
-
Where's the new mini episode today? My Friday feels incomplete!

I have yet to listen to this podcast, but I have read both 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' and 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' and they are two of the worst books I've ever read. I love Jane Austen, Zombies, Lincoln, AND Vampires, and Seth Grahame-Smith managed to make all of those things incredibly boring. I guess good on him for managing to sell garbage to millions of people, but still, ugh.
Â
Yep, reaching back to the first page for this.
Â
I got a lot of shit before (I won't go into it) for ragging on guests, but I felt like Seth was trying really hard just to be ragging on the movie, especially when he realized Jason loved it. I haven't read either of those books, but the mere premise/idea of them makes me roll my eyes like crazy.

That was really, really fun episode. If Zooks was that excited about this movie, I can't wait to hear this thoughts on Face/Off.
Â
I really reveled in Zook's overwhleming, unabashed joy at this movie, the energy he brought was some next level shit.
Â
I fell somewhere in between love and hate-Paul's Jager analogy was perfect. It was really fun during it, and then when I thought about it afterwards, I realized how absurd and kind of stupid it was.
Â
Also, I'm totally with the audience member who thought the little girl wasn't real. That scene was so odd, when I was watching it I felt like I missed something, because all of a sudden Steve Buscemi is sitting down with an odd looking little girl in the middle of nowhere, with no one else around.
Â
CAN'T WAIT FOR FACE/OFF!

Listening to this again, so I just had to post about how much I loved this ep. I marathoned HDTGM last summer to get caught up. I listened to episodes even if I hadn't seen the movie, just to catch up.
Â
But for this turd, I had to stop the podcast 10 minutes in and watch it before I finished.
Â
Truly the most fucking bizarre movie I've ever seen. I was sick at the time, which added a layer of it being weird and me wondering if it was a weird fever dream.
Â
Christ, what a movie.

"...it's in Belgium."
Â
"If I had grown up on a farm, and was retarded, Bruges would impress me. But, I didn't. So, it doesn't."
Â
Damn, I really need to watch that movie again soon...

If you want your movie to feature an Irishman committing murder, hire Brendan Gleeson and one of the McDonagh brothers for a guaranteed cinematic success!
Â
Him calling Raph Fiennes' entire family "C***s" in In Bruges was amazing.

I saw it when it first came out and absolutely loved it. It was on Showtime this weekend so I caught bits and pieces, still loved it.
Â
In case folks didn't know, the writer/director is the brother of the writer/director of In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, two more movies I love.
Â
A seriously talented pair.

Good things about Lake Placid: it was only 82 minutes long
Bad things about Lake Placid: pretty much everything else
Â
Although your first point ties into LL's theory of relativity-that felt like it was two and a half hours of dreck!

No major character dies?! Major disappointment. I've gotta give this round to Deep Blue Sea.

20 minutes in and I already can't wait for this croc monster to eat Bridget Fonda's character.
Â
"I thought camp was like a Ramada Inn!"

WHAT?!

Â
Piranha 3D or Piranha 3DD?
Â
Ahhhhhh well spotted. Saw the first one, never saw the second one.
Â
Sorry I forgot Paul!

By the way, can anyone name a creature feature horror movie in the last couple years? I feel like the genre died out a little bit...
EPISODE 110.5 — Minisode 110.5
in How Did This Get Made?
Posted
So so happy the Netflix version has Ahnuld's original voice, instead of being dubbed.
Â
That being said, I'm 2 minutes in and may need to turn on subtitles.
Â
Last note: loving this lute Greek folk jam over the opening credits!
