I watched the first two ep's and one from week two. Corden is doing a similar talk show arrangement to a couple of very popular UK shows - Graham Norton & Jonathan Ross seem like the most obvious comparisons. The shows I saw felt like the kinks hadn't been worked out. Even though each show takes some moments to give Reggie the stage, it seemed just a bit awkward. Corden has some talk show (kinda) experience guest hosting a show called Never Mind The Buzzcocks, which is what they call a "pop quiz" in UK. He also does a series called "Wrong Guys" which is on Hulu. He's definitely funny and like-able but the show hasn't gotten it's legs yet. I'm gonna watch this week to see if they're getting it together. I really want to like it cause I love RW and like Corden. We'll see... Curious to hear your opinion Stan. I wonder how you would feel about a doc by Werner Herzog called Happy People. It's about trappers/hunters who live in deep Siberia with almost zero modern amenities. It might make the cut for your documentary criteria because it's not about a western social phenomenon you would hear about or have the potential to see. Plus it's of course narrated by Herzog which is always a good thing. The docs about Chinese conceptual artist/dissident Ai Weiwei may fall into a similar exception. Let's take mortal enemy-ness off the table if we could please.

Back when I lived in Minnesota Jesse Ventura declared today Joe McGurl Day. The weird thing is he wasn't even Governor at the time. No one wanted to argue with Jesse though so we went with it. Now it's the biggest bash of the year, it makes 4th of July look like Arbor Day. I of course travel back every June to celebrate with my Northern Kinsfolk. The best part is the next morning, just before the sun comes up. Walking though the deserted streets littered with spent fireworks and #1 Handsome Boy paraphernalia. Sorry, getting a little choked up with nostalgia. Shit, I gotta run the fireworks are about to start. The last thing I'll say is - for me, Joe McGurl Day has always and will always be the true official beginning of summer. Rock on Joe.

I haven't been commenting much but have been steady on with Hoo-Hoo and Choo-Choo since about ep 3. I feel like this show is so unique. It's so cool to just sink into the convo with these folks who have such an easy rapport. I didn't pick up any static is my two cents on that. I think I just love people flippin' each other shit, and figure if it airs all are cool with it. The improv at the end was awesome and I didn't want it to end. Chad maybe serve us up a mini-ep of scraps? That would be pretty cool. Maybe it's too early in the run... Anyway, love you guys! PS Chad, you're totally right about the show getting better and better. Really hitting a groove now.
