EPISODE 354 — Solo Bolo: Dos Lo

Was that an episode or a general-purpose programming language which has imperative, object-oriented and generic programming features, while also providing the facilities for low-level memory manipulation? Cause I'm listening to it, and all I'm hearing is C++ baby. This episode reminded me of UTU2TM? in the best possible way.

Episode 86 — Ross Mathews, Our Close Friend

Having submitted a popcorn gallery question really brought something ugly out from inside of me. I skipped right to the end of the show to hear if any of my questions got asked. What have I become? Is this my white whale?

Do any of you Handbook-heads have bands? If so, plug them here!

I posted another thread, which, maybe that was gauche and selfish. In addition to podcast segment cover songs, I make a bunch of music with my 22-key MIDI controller. I did like, 9 Jay-Z remixes, a James Blake ripoff, a weird Revolution Number 9-type song with a Home Improvement sample.
  4. Ross when you were on Celeb Fit Club you lost 40 pounds. Did you ever find them again? Where were they, and was it in the last place you thought to look? edit: Alternate joke if that one doesn't land: Ross when you were on CelebFitClub you lost 40 pounds and won the grand prize, but if you were on a british poker tournament and lost 40 pounds you'd probably come in last place. Can you speak on that?
  5. If you're like me and the regular popcorn gallery theme song is too mainstream and poppy and not heavy enough for you, this is the one to listen to when you're putting on your fishnets and painting your nails jet black. For fans of Skin Puppy and Minister and Nine Inch. https://soundcloud.com/casey-whieldon-1/popcorn-gallery-spooky-industrial-cover-version-like-nine-inch-nails (PS This is a parody please don't sue me I live with my mom still and I don't make a lot of money at my job at Hot Topic)

Popcorn Gallery for rebellious goths like me

Your lack of outright condemnation means the world to me. This song is too spooky for this show anyway. Maybe if there was a subpodcast called [spook warning] Trannsylvania Handbook it would be fitting, but it would probably give listeners of HH nightmares.

You're right. Mods, delete this thread please.

    EPISODE 353 — Goodbye Reggie!

I feel like I'm listening to Marc Macaroni.
  9. I don't think Benny can go a full podcast without breaking into song or out of character, and I love it. "Is that real? Is that for real, like seriously?"

    EPISODE 352 — Scrunchy Face

Fun fact: Until I googled it yesterday, I was not aware that Tom Leykis was a real person. Also, until I googled it today, I was not aware that Huell Howser was a real person. To be fair, I think these were regional celebrities. I had just assumed they were fictional characters.

    New to Forums; Question

I think the Car Talk guys are from that area. One of them died, though.

    We will miss you Harris

I stumbled upon this 2008 standup segment from Harris today. Just got uploaded a little big ago, so maybe it's new to you guys. I'd never seen his stand-up before. It reminds me of the story he told on Pete Holmes' show about how he was awarded a spot on some "hot new stand-up artist" showcase, and when it was his turn to get up and talk, he started off with "Uh, yeah. I'm not really a stand-up, for the most part. I like, uh, writing."

Episode 58 — I Want It That Way

This is a gripping debate, spanning 4 years like a correspondence chess game.
  14. I just know that, as someone who listened to BB King every day, and anxiously awaited every new album of his, to hear of his passing at the tender age of 107 was a GREAT, great tragedy to the world of music. I'm glad to see that StepheH was able to keep just a little bit of that great bluesman's spirit alive. For those of us who aren't able to see the blues firsthand at that Hollywood Cafe on Beale Street in Memphis, a video like that is as close as we can come to real thing.

    EPISODE 352 — Scrunchy Face

A-and, George W. Bush, well, we got so fooled into thinking he was a lovable buffoon, by googly impressions of him on SNL and the like, that we totally didn't even think of him as the guy who did 9/11, which in hindsight, he clearly did.
  16. Hey guys, here to talk about my day. I went to a sushi buffet that I frequent, and the waitress, when I was done, she asked "just two plates today?" with surprise in her voice. Mind you, these were two 10" plates, covered and piled high with sushi, so it's a lot of food, but she was still surprised. Do I really eat that much? Long story short, I'm worried I'm starting to gain a reputation among the work staff at a sushi buffet.
  17. You guys, I already said my opinion about this episode and it's only on page 2 of the topic. I'm kinda new here, how do we usually get to 18 pages? Does somebody want to argue with me? I can say that one of the Wild Horses girls is a babe, and somebody else can call me a sexist. That's always a fruitful and satisfying argument to get into.
  18. Good ep, except I noticed there was no WolfCool tag at the end. Did the suits make S&H change it back? That's not very Dave-like at all. Dave would wear that WolfCool tag like a velcro suit and jump right into the velcro wall of keeping it on the end of his podcast.

    EPISODE 352 — Scrunchy Face

Nick sure got cold when Will Hines was riffing on the guy's twitter name being Native American. It seemed strange until I realized he was a cast member in this movie (he later plugged the movie, really undercutting my super-sleuth skills). Adomian's Bernie Sanders, kind of like his Slavoj Zizek, was an impressive impression, but probably not the most fertile grounds for comedy. I chuckled a few times. Maybe he's gunning for a spot as an SNL cast member if Sanders ever gets mainstream. Overall, I'm gonna have to give this episode a C+.

EPISODE 351 — CBB: The Movie

Hey guys I don't want to get involved in any of this debate and controversy so let me just say that I thought this episode was good and also that blacks and Jews are genetically inferior to whites. Great ep!

    EPISODE 343 — Athlete's Head

Victor Diamond was featured in this week's Comedy Bang Bang TV show, for those of you who are into that thing. Which, is anybody? Nobody really talks about the TV show on here. Is there another forum that I'm not cool enough to know about?

EPISODE 110 — The Island of Dr. Moreau

If the advice of a stranger on the internet means anything to you, I give Scheer-RL a ringing endorsement. Check it out, folks.

    EPISODE 349 — The 6th Anniversary Show!

Also, Neil Campbell had a role on the TV show the other week (the episode with Joel McHale) where he played a man from the future who arrived naked and refused to put on clothes, and I recommend it to everyone.

    EPISODE 349 — The 6th Anniversary Show!

Did Thomas Littlebitch have somewhere else to be? Have to go spend some more of his HBO money? I kept waiting for him to come back as another character and it never happened. He's really great on this show. Mike Hanford's John Lennon also cracked me up on just about every line. "Back when we were in the Beatles we had rulers that were four feet. We could afford it!" "While my guitar gently sleeps." "Drums!"
