  1. Does anyone who listens to this podcast try not to look at the episode title/location so that it comes as a surprise in the middle of the episode, as it does to the actual Spontaneanation improv players whenever they do a show?

I've tried that. Doesn't work particularly well. But I usually AM able to avoid seeing who's in the episode until I hear them announced, because for some reason I enjoy that being a surprise as well.

  2. I think I realized during this episode that Janet is the best callbacker! When she's not around, the interview is more often neglected.

I noticed that re-listening to some older episodes, that Janet has an amazing instinct for callbacks. In the first episode, for instance, I don't know how many re-listens it took for me to piece together her "atrocity you performed" callback.

KILLER panel this week, and Bruce was the hardest I've laughed at the interview section in a while. Although it probably helps that the question was loaded with so much potential for silliness.

  3. FUN FACTS FROM THE LIVE AUDIENCE:

When Cackowski exclaims "Get off my bus!" to the exorcists, it's a callback to an exchange during the break, when Jackson said that in an attempt to call back to PFT's prejudiced-against-anthropomorphic-things bit, but ended up confusing everyone.

And as you may have pieced together from elsewhere, the Joy Division stuff is a callback to the song PFT and Lennon sang (and Sarah danced to) during the break.

Sadly, I don't remember most of the visual goings-on from the show, so I am HELPLESS to provide fun facts for those.

  4. How rigid is the one-interview-guest-and-three-improvisor-guests format? Would there ever be a possibility of a special episode, say for an anniversary or something, with MORE THAN THREE Spontaneanation all-star improvisor guests? Because I'd love to hear Janet Varney and Marc Evan Jackson and Sarah Burns and Colleen Smith and Chris Tallman and Matt Gourley and Victor Yerrid and Craig Cackowski and Mark McConville and so many more ALL IN ONE EPISODE, although I would understand if such a thing was deemed too unmanageable.

  5. I'm pretty sure this is a place to express your opinions. My opinion is that Janet Varney's laugh is forced and often times fake as fuck, overbearing and distracting.

Rudeness aside, I suppose I could understand how someone could find Janet's laugh annoying. I certainly don't AGREE, but I understand on a conceptual level that different people are annoyed by different things.

However, I can't even BEGIN to fathom how one could think her laugh sounds "fake". Every time I see or hear Janet--in podcast, on television, or the rare in-person encounter--all she does is radiate genuine sincere joyfulness.
