This is on HBO right now. I made it through the opening rescue sequence, and I immediately had to make sure this thread existed. There's so much WTF in this movie already. I kind of love it. Also, I REALLY hope Carla Gugino's new boyfriend's mega-building is what is causing all the quakes.

Here's a link to the Instagram post with a clip of the dude doing the splits. And have a still if you don't want to click the link: The only thing better than Jason's reaction here is when he told splits guy "You blew it, Cody. You were the star of the show."

Anyone else think it's funny that the word for surrender is "matte?" If I hadn't looked up the spelling, I would have assumed they were just calling for this:

I'm glad it wasn't just me. About halfway through, I thought, "Man, this lady is a mix between Zouks and Chelsea Peretti." Also, I had no idea who she was and only glanced at the episode title on my phone before listening, and I totally had her confused with Vanessa Bayer for about the first 1/3 of the episode.

The gang didn't talk about it, but one of the audience members gave it as their alternate title before their question.

I usually don't post until I've listened to the whole episode, but I'm less than five minutes in and Jason said, "I'll go on record as saying, 'This movie...is fucking awesome!'" I feel like we all knew he'd have that response, but I can't say it made me love it any less.

Ummm...guys. Someone made a mini version of The Room mashed up with Hamilton. I'm still not sure if this is brilliant or utterly stupid, but I kind of love it.

My best friend was traveling for work when the Game of Thrones season finale aired last season. For those of you who don't watch it, a major character was killed (at least, appears to have been killed) in the finale. My friend had an hour layover at D/FW before continuing to Austin, where he planned on driving straight home and watching the finale. He logged onto the WiFi at D/FW to check his email. You know how on a lot of public WiFi networks, you get a splash page after you log in? Theirs had a bunch of headlines from Yahoo! News, and the very first one was "[Actor] on [Character]'s Death Scene on Last Night's Game of Thrones Finale"

I fucking love the Dolph Lundgren version. I grew up on that one, and even though it's not a great movie, it's just so much fun.

Totally agree. Elektra has been the weakest part for me, which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to her. I flew through the first four episodes because Frank Castle was sooooo good. I'm only up through episode 7 because I just don't care at all about the Elektra storyline. It's funny because I've been reading Caroline Siede's bingewatch reviews on AV Club as I go, and she has the exact opposite response (although from one of the review titles later in the season, it sounds like she's changed her mind). I don't know what it is, but Elektra hasn't really gelled with me, and I really need more Frank Castle in the show. Edit: also, her accent can fuck right off.

Nice eyebrows, bro.

I'm watching it. Just about to finish episode 5, and it's been awesome so far. I agree; Bernthal is definitely the stand out performance.
-
I know you said fake fighter, but.....

I couldn't stand that movie, but it could be because someone convinced me to watch it by saying it was "like The Raid on a train." But, yeah, that line made me laugh so hard.
-
That would be really cool. Maybe HDTGM needs an Instagram account for that.
-
I totally agree, but I also feel the same way about Sharknado.
-
I'm closing in on 1k. I should just shitpost stream-of-consciousness musings for a few straight pages in the next episode thread. That's the cool thing to do, right guys?

I've only seen two of them, I think, but they're pairing him up with Stephanie Beatriz, who is my favorite part of that show. I'm just saying they'd have beautiful, aggressive, beardy babies.

Ugh. Paul, seriously? Keanu was Ted "Theodore" Logan. It feels like a betrayal on a personal level that he doesn't know this.
-
And except for Draco Malfoy, I still can't tell them apart.

I used to love that movie when I was younger. If you haven't seen it recently, though, I would recommend not doing so. The Addams Family movies have held up pretty well. Life with Mikey waaay less so.

Yeah, that was because Clear Channel owned both KEGL and KDGE, so to keep them from competing, they killed off The Eagle (which was stupid since they played entirely different types of music and had largely different audiences). That's a good question. I felt like they had done one before, but after looking through his filmography, I guess not.

For a minute, I thought you jumbled up WFAA (which is the ABC affiliate out of Dallas).
