The episode is great, but boy it takes a turn near the end with Joe as a pedophile. And Jessica is officially a CBB All-Star.
-
On a tangent, if all three hosts saw and hated Dawn of Justice, how has it not gotten an episode?
-
I love the CBB community. Their selection for the best live episode reaffirmed my faith in humanity. Interesting thing is that of the standard podcast episodes for the year, no episodes from July or August made the list. Which is a shame because #441: "Your Cousin Marvin" from August definitely should have made the list just based on Lenny the Loner.
-
If Calvin Redding could make the list for the live episodes, then Donny Gary had better be one of the top two.
-
I am pleased as punch that Jessica McKenna's second outing as Beth made the Best Ofs just because of those freestyle rap skills.

I'm at little over the halfway mark the the disassembling of TLC's "No Scrubs" by this group is amazing.

Episode 34 - Velveteen Carter was in the Horse Pillow (w/ Carl Tart)
Royboy replied to DaltonMaltz's topic in Hard Nation
"A clown car of soyces" might be the greatest line of the series. It needs a T-shirt. -
Episode 104 - Paul F. Tompkins, Scott Aukerman: Generations
Royboy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Oh man. This is amazing. This episode was insane. Congratulations to Lauren on the two year anniversary! The long wait 'til March will be tough (No North Pod 3?) but I bet it'll be worth it. -
Episode 454 - Return to Suicide House Part Tricks-or-Treats
Royboy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I recently re-listened to the previous Suicide House episodes and I still believe that Scott was 100% justified in objecting to Swamp Thing's inclusion in the Monster Fuck. -
Halloween is on Monday. Presumably if they're doing a Suicide House ep, that would probably be when it drops. Also, I demand a faith-off between Reverend TP Stain and Reverend Parsimony!
-
Also, we can add another corpse to the pile in the studio.

Jessica McKenna has quickly become a favorite and she's joined Drew Tarver and Tim Baltz on a short list of people from this year to join the ranks of CBB All-Stars.

Spoiler alert: Classic Jarles!

You know, when I read that I immediately thought "Oh, they're jumping right to Lawnmower Man from the live show this weekend and we're just going to have to wait a bit for the episode to drop." Then Paul talked about Dreamcatcher and I was so happy. Stephen King is taking quite a hit this year from HDTGM.

I was thinking Whitney Peeps myself, but that works too.

I get the feeling that if Bone Queef (or Zeke Nicholson in general) had not been on the show, this episode would have been a mess. Aya and Kether didn't really seem to gel quite the way other first time guests have and Daniel was way too subtle of a character. The word 'queef' helped for the easy jokes.

This Patty might be able to help Traci Reardon with her grandma's corpse. Or not.

Not just Tim Curry. Ian McKellen is in this gem. And a reminder that this movie involves the line of dialogue "Psychically, I'm very well endowed." I have listened to SOOOOOO many episodes of the original radio show and this movie took that concept and just went bonkers.

I was working at a movie theater when this came out and as a promotional item, we all got metal Phantom rings. I guess so we could all "slam evil". But the rings just discolored our fingers.
-
There's a lot to mock in this movie, but I rewatched it about a year ago and it's impossible to watch this and not see Alec Baldwin as anything but a super-powered Jack Doneghy.

Episode 15 - Carly Fiorina Has A Fetus In Her Purse
Royboy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Hard Nation
When the titular fetus in the purse comes out? This. Episode. Gets. Nuts. -
The Return of Swamp Thing (1989)
Royboy replied to TheGreenMalice's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
When I was a teenager, I watched this movie multiple, multiple times. On VHS, on cable... Back then, I loved it, but probably because the comic movie bar was really, really low. I finally rewatched it today after about twenty years. It's an insane movie that I think the show would really have a lot of fun with. That the two kids have more of a subplot than Swamp Thing and Abby do; the almost fourth wall breaking look at the camera Louis Jourdan does when he was about to die; Heather Locklear actually giving an effort; that CCR song that probably cost more than anything else in the movie; and best of all Darryl, Arcane's security guy, who is awfully Rafi-esque. Seriously. If they made this movie today, Jason would be playing that part. -
Episode 432 - Dana Carvey's Micro-Impressions
Royboy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I'm about an hour in and I like that it was brought up how well Little Dammit Man would get along with HoHo, but when Dana was talking about Paul McCartney and Ringo Star, Scott never brought up John Lennon. -
Episode 66 - Hamilton on Broadway
Royboy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
This ep had to have the record number of jumps, because it sounded like those buttons were being hit more than any other episode.
