Episode 404 - The Timeys Leap Year Celebration
Royboy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Oh my God. It's the birth of the CBB Avengers! -
#1 on this year's Best Of list. Calling it now.

It really did seem like they wanted Garry back more than doing anything with Alan, right up to killing him off with no fanfare.

The lovers from the Netflix show "Love"? What's next, the characters from Netflix's "The Characters"?

Episode 64 - Eliza Skinner: Post-Apodcastlypse

Wait, Traci thinks Gino would be good at finding food in the Apocalypse? He's rail thin! Bad call. Now Marissa... she can smell a Digiorno's a mile away! -
Just got done listening to this. Very, very funny! I genuinely hope this special leads to an ongoing series.

So Dimples does foley work and no mention of Andy Pappage?
-
After today's show, perhaps Gemberling could answer: What exactly is a knife fighter?
-
So they had Michael Caine and Steven Seagal on and no questions about "On Deadly Ground"?
-
Yeah, once you heard Harris' last episode at #2, by process of elimination, you had a pretty good idea of what #1 was.

EPISODE 58 - Paul F. Tompkins: The North Pod 2 with Santa Claus
Royboy replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
I cannot wait to listen to the episode, but if one needs even more fun with Santa and Ho-Ho, they made an appearance on the episode of Thrilling Adventure Hour that also went up today. Merry Christmas! -
Well, most of the stuff I mentioned in the minisode thread that I hoped they'd cover here, they did. I'd still like to know if Sparks was supposed to be their interpretation of Oracle or not. Ders killed it. Great guest.

This was not a bad suggestion at all and 'twas Instagram that revealed the guests, though I couldn't tell which guest will be covering which Shaq movie.
-
So did anyone go to the shows tonight? Who was the special guest, or is talking about the shows before they've been released something that's frowned upon?
-
By the way, as Judd Nelson's character was using an arcade as a front for his activities, were arcades still a thing in 1997? Or just in the midst of their decline?
-
Still more watchable than Snyder's Man of Steel.

Lady Jaye from G.I. Joe. The fanservice they threw into episodes "The Gamesmaster" and "Grey Hairs and Growing Pains" did things to me as a kid that I did not understand at the time.

Ooh, it's like a Marvel movie in you have to stay past the end Earwolf bits for more! -
EPISODE 55 - Nick Vatterott: Land Of The Danny Freeman

Did Richard Nixon and Jimmy Pardo have a kid? -
Oh HELL yes. I am so looking forward to this. It's amazing since about a year ago, my masochistic desire to re-watch some of the worst films DC had to offer brought this to mind. Of course, my attempt to view a frittata Iron Man was somewhat hindered by the fact that it wasn't available on Netflix in any capacity. Insane, since there's so many terrible movies one can get there, but Steel was apparently where they drew the line. Now I was incensed. You can't tell me I can't watch Steel! By Gods, I was now gonna find this piece of crap and watch it. To blazes with whomever gets in my way! So I went to one of the last few video rental stores here in town and found it, buried and hidden away in their superhero section. On the bottom shelf where I had to kneel down to get it. The weirdest part was that when I brought the DVD up to the counter, the clerk asked "Are you the guy that called earlier about this?" I replied no, agog in the realization that that night, there were *two* people out there looking to watch Steel and I was one of them. The quality of the DVD? Not good, but it played nonetheless. So I can only imagine how Paul, June, Jason and whomever their guest is (if any) managed to watch it. I do hope that they'll bring up how Grandma Odessa's souffle was a real subplot to this movie. Or that the finest performance was John Hawkes as The Mugger. Since Paul and Jason are comic nerds I can imagine they might get into the history with Superman. Maybe the confusion on if Sparks was inspired by Oracle or not. And I also anticipate a joke or two about Ray J.

On a note inspired by this episode, when does the voting start for the best of the year? *EDIT* Never mind. He mentioned it right at the end of the episode.

HDTGM: Miami! Maybe it's a spinoff just to talk about bad comic movies as there are still sooooooo many to cover. Or HDTGM the TV edition where they talk about cancelled shows that were just bonkers.

I move for an Aukerman family reunion episode with Todd, Bob Ducca and Delna.

Oh damn! The people just brought up last week and now the dream has been realized? Awesome.
