Episode 463 - 2016 Holiday Spectacular
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Marvelous episode! One of those episodes that reminds me why I'm so thankful CBB is a thing. Looking forward to the Best-ofs! -
Episode 90 - The Childhood Home of Fred Rogers (w/ Kathryn Borel, Hal Lublin, Jennifer Marie Kelley, Mary Sohn)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I envy past Paul who can still wake up from that particular nightmare... It's true, the Canada is a big fan of PFT! It's fun hearing spouses or significant others on podcasts, you get to see what their dynamic is like. I've heard Hal mention Carter Parton-Rogers so many times and never knew she wasn't a real person, how embarrassing! I never knew Mr. Rogers's origin story was something I needed in my life. It was hilarious and adorable! -
Episode 89 - Salem, Oregon Comic Shop (w/ Ron Funches, Jordan Black, Jeremy Carter, Jean Villepique)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Hurray for the return of Paul's comic book creator character who says "Diogenes!" I don't remember his original name either. -
Episode 88 - East NYC Village (w/ Oscar Nunez, Craig Cackowski, Jean Villepique, Gary Anthony Williams)

Me three! -
CBB 2016 Australia Tour Best of
KatherineIsOdd replied to DanEngler's topic in Comedy Bang Bang 2016 Tour
Loved this, the behind the scenes stories, the super cute animal stories, and of course the Rick Astley songs! -
Episode 86 - A Whale's Belly (w/ Natalie Morales, Matt Gourley, Craig Cackowski, Colleen Smith)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Especially funny and great episode with snappy improv dialogue, too many great quotes to even mention. It's like they knew people would need it this week. Remember last time Natalie was on and she said Trump looked like "a fece" and theorized he may be a decoy? Those were the days... Hearing Colleen's voice reminds me I wish NYSU were still around this week too. -
Episode 104 - Paul F. Tompkins, Scott Aukerman: Generations
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Three of my faves at their best? Amazing from start to finish. I cry-laughed so much. The story of the extended workplace prank? Oh my god! -
I liked when Paul/Cal abbreviated "From Coast to Coast" to "From C to C" which sounds like "From Sea to Sea" which means "From Coast to Coast." And you wouldn't even notice if you didn't know about PFT's love of randomly abbreviating.

Episode - 85 The Last Sizzler (w/ Jeb Lund, Stephanie Courtney, Maria Blasucci, Amanda Lund)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Loved all the pet stories. I'm still sad about those bunnies... -
Episode 84 - State Fair: Live from Largo (w/ Kumail Nanjiani, Jordan Black, Annie Savage, Jean Villepique)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Those Jackie Coogan facts were insane! I can definitely relate to Kumail's feeling of not belonging when he was the only one not crying. I enjoyed Annie trying to decide, mid-word, whether two characters she'd been playing were the same person. -
Episode 83 - Under A Big Rain Storm w/ The JayVees (Little Janet Varney, Jean Villepique)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I enjoyed this episode very much, it felt special with just the two guests. I had a very strong reaction to PFT finally revealing the previous guest, and also saying "fun and whimsy." Might be my favourite improv ever, so crazy with those murder robots! -
Season 4: Game 5 - PISTOL SHRIMPS RADIO 10/18/16
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Pistol Shrimps Radio
As much as I love Matt and Mark together, it was incredibly fun to hear Matt's descent into madness. And the moment with Amanda where he says "oh, we are so meant to be" was super sweet. -
Episode 82 - Madison Square Garden: Live from The Detroit Improv Festival (w/ Zach Gowen, Nyima Funk, Marc Evan Jackson, Marc Warzecha)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
More local Detroit geography references I don't understand! But hey, I laughed at "Tofino" (not a dessert) and "New Westminster" at the Vancouver Spont, I had my turn. This episode was super fun. All the shape talk and Nyima's knowledge of the quadratic formula filled me with nerd glee! -
Good episode. I lost it at the Kevin Spacey House of Cards impression. It occurs to me that if I wanted to do the voicemail message thing they suggested, I could use Paul saying my full name on the Dead Authors Podcast, but then that one part would be in a British accent and that would be weird.

Love listening to Scott and Paul riffing and singing! Any other Canadians listening who have met Scott (albeit for thirty seconds at a meet and greet) who heard Scott say "I've never met a nice Canadian" and went "Heyyy!"? Though it is canonical that he thinks I'm a cyberbully.

Episode 81 - The Other Side of the Tracks: Live from the Detroit Improv Festival (w/ Craig Cackowski, Nancy Hayden, Nyima Funk, Marc Evan Jackson)

"Don't fourth walls break easily?" -
Episode 80 - Warehouse (w/ Eugene Cordero, Tim Baltz, Amanda Lund, Carla Cackowski)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
"And you could put cucumber slices under the sunglasses." "But why would I do that?" "It'd look weird." Soda out the nose! -
September 28 - London, 02 Shepard's Bush Empire
KatherineIsOdd replied to Shannon's topic in Comedy Bang Bang 2016 Tour
"Macbeth is just something actors do to pretend they're interesting." Loved Scott and ALW's impromptu couples counseling session. The part where the C word was dropped made me have a laughter attack in my car. Nothing against Jon or anyone else, but I definitely missed Lauren on this leg of the tour. Great job to all involved on a great run of performances around the world this year!! -
September 27 - Hyde Park Picture House, Leeds

Captain Sully gives me such joy. The Cloud Atlas moment was amazing. -
Episode 79 - Madrid: Live from Outside Lands 2016 (w/ Fred Armisen, Craig Cackowski, Tawny Newsome, Little Janet Varney)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I was going to do that joke but I chickened out. Glad someone got us there. -
September 25 - The Dancehouse, Manchester
KatherineIsOdd replied to Shannon's topic in Comedy Bang Bang 2016 Tour
"Are bundts grunts?" "Bundts are grunts!" Very funny episode. Always great to hear a Cake Boss appearance. Audio quality took some getting used to, but totally listenable once you do. Hope Gino doesn't get in trouble! -
Episode 79 - Madrid: Live from Outside Lands 2016 (w/ Fred Armisen, Craig Cackowski, Tawny Newsome, Little Janet Varney)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I laughed way too hard at this. Another word like "misled" that my friends and I would misread as children is "molestation." We were like, "What's a mole station? Is there a tiny subway for rodents? Oh, wait, I get it now." This is officially the least dark anecdote about molestation you'll ever hear. -
Episode 79 - Madrid: Live from Outside Lands 2016 (w/ Fred Armisen, Craig Cackowski, Tawny Newsome, Little Janet Varney)

Love how passionate that audience is about sandwich classifications! Many very clever lines in this improv, particularly "I am an expat/ex-Pat myself"/"Oh, really, what's your name now?" -
Episode 446 - Scrounging and Lounging
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Paul tweeted that he made a mistake and apologized the morning this episode came out: -

Hahahahaha, I genuinely thought you were just that enthusiastic about Tawny Newsome. Makes sense, because she's great!
