Top-notch banter between these four, loved it! I burst out laughing in the cafeteria at "vermouthed from the house," and the ensuing dead silence. Psychilogist! All the possible meanings of Tom Sawyer/Huck Finning! Dying! And "I've been very busy this year" had me exclaiming "Oh no!" Great episode.

Episode 72 - Airship Underwater: Live from Largo

I would have interpreted that question to mean that you have the necessary physical strength but no new mental awareness of how to play the sport, but you get to keep the awareness you already have. But their interpretation was funnier. Loved the part where PFT had to play two roles at once! The Colleen's teeth moving over like cars part was so great! Hope she's feeling better! -

This episode takes zero seconds to go off the rails. I love it, and I don't care. I'm very happy these best-ofs are a thing! -

"How about Tame Impala?" "Oh, yeah." "Animal bands in general?" "Yeah!...Is tame an animal?" Nice shout-out to Rachel Bloom's SPONT. BCB's general grumpiness cracks me up. -

Episode 71 - Summer Camp: Live from Fox Cabaret in Vancouver, BC (w/ The Sunday Service)

I was at this show and it was beyond amazing. I promise I wasn't one of the people shouting things. If you get the chance to go to a Spont or any other PFT show, run don't walk to make it happen! If you have nobody to go with, go alone like I did, you'll make friends. There is instant kinship between people who hear the same disembodied voices. I didn't do a lot of socializing, as I am a shy person, but when the birthday girl was trying to explain the significance of "Happy Birthday" to her friends after the show, myself and the other stranger sitting next to me butted in and filled in the details she was missing, and between the three of us, we came up with the full saga of Paul's vendetta against those miserly crones, Mildred and Patty, may they roast in hell, and it was a fun moment of "we're the people who get it!" I can assure you that Kevin did get a chance to pee during the first break, in case any of you needed a bladder update. All those performer intros were so weird and funny, I'm laughing very hard all over again while listening. Dragons! Caitlin's interview was hilarious. Her childhood in the small Inuit village was like what people who know nothing about Canada except the stereotypes think our lives are like. Between this, Ryan's toque, Kevin's plaid shirt, and all the Marxism, this episode may be the most Canadian stereotype-reinforcing thing that has ever existed. Lots of visual stuff in the improv. Whenever Paul was playing the character "Jazz," he would stumble around the stage leaning drunkenly, and whoever was nearby would have to support him. I also enjoyed the owl and bear character's physically acting, well, like and owl and a bear. And Jeff Cangetatan/Jeff Haspaleskin's spider fingers, which were already described very well by the improvisers. After Jeremy says "Bye, Diane," near the end, he leans in to kiss Diane and she leans wayyyyy back to avoid the kiss. At the very end, Paul's mystic character, offended by Diane, gives the bear permission to maul her and he does. Super hilarious improv, I was so glad to be able to see this. Sorry for the long post! -

Relistened today and caught Eban playing "How much is that doggie in the window" for Stephanie's new puppy! Adorable! -

These three are killing me with these crazy riffs! I found it very funny how long it took them to finally get around to talking about the tour. Loved the story about Neil's (and Drew's) parents seeing them shine. -

Rachel's dad sounds hilarious. I am consistently impressed by GAW's range of voices! Yes! I loved it! -
I mostly knew him as that guy PFT impersonates, as most of his work was before my time, but even so, I've grown fond of him through the character and I'm saddened by his passing. He obviously meant a lot to a lot of people. Paul's article is an excellent tribute. The last line suggests he won't be doing the character anymore, and that is a loss in and of itself. RIP Garry Marshall, safe passage back to your dimension.

CBB 2016 Tour Best of Part. 1
KatherineIsOdd replied to Shannon's topic in Comedy Bang Bang 2016 Tour
This is a gift from the podcast gods! I feel like I've never heard all three of these people be themselves at the same time and it is a nuclear combination of hilarity. It's almost too funny! Very good tour clips and it's fun to hear what it was like for the performers. I am surprised and amused by how little they remember. I was relieved to hear Scott mention people, plural, at the meet and greets who were in tears or close to it, because that means it wasn't just me! (I didn't cry, I almost cried, much less embarrassing.) Looking forward to parts 2 and 3! -

Trolling those boys, lol! -
I too enjoyed the chat with Jim. I feel like more of the "real" Scott, (i.e. not doing a bit, talking about personal stuff) came through in this episode than usual.

Episode 69 - Minnesota State Fair (w/ Cedric Yarbrough, Mark McConville, Colleen Smith, Little Janet Varney)
KatherineIsOdd replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I just went to the SPONT wiki to check if Little Janet Varney has been on more episodes than anyone else, and it looks like she and Craig Cackowski are tied at 15 episodes each. (There isn't a leaderboard there, but I clicked on all the likely suspects.) -

Okay, I just saw the picture with the seed art on the wall during the recording of this episode, and I take back my "coincidental" claim. -

I'm surprised everyone was so aghast at the idea of eating dry ramen noodles. I feel like when I was a child, they were eaten raw more often than cooked, and they're no rougher on the teeth than chips or pretzels. Loved the drunk scientist and his rat. And that seed art reference! What a coincidental location! -

Such a wonderful episode! Eban seemed to be enjoying himself more than usual, and there was what seems like a record amount of PFT laughter, and that makes me happy! So glad for the return of MEJ after such a long time! It was nice to hear about his world travels, I was wondering why he's been gone from SPONT and Brooklyn 99 for so long. I'm glad the "ghost noise" didn't scare him away for good! Paul's Bjork stories, Craig's diner story, Nyima's interruptions, Forrest Whittaker's lazy eye, the Greek chorus's talking in unison, it was all great! -
Kristian was great!

On an almost unrelated note, on the far right of the episode picture, there appears to be a small child's fan letter to Who Charted, complete with drawings, and it is most adorable. Yay high resolution images!
