  1. As soon as PFT said "a foot for every year" I instantly knew it was a reference to a sad poem, which I looked up and it's Mid-term Break by Seamus Heaney: http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/247816 A poem I only studied briefly around 14 years ago, and none of the other lines are remotely familiar to me now, and I can't believe my brain remembered that! So many references flying under the radar on this show! Unless I'm mistaken and it was just a coincidence. Only when he's frustrated with doing a business.
  2. The happy birthday train keeps on chugging, woo woo! Mitch and Dolores are back! Will the drama never end? Not to mention Liam, the Welsh/Jamaican/Indian-sounding Irish hill person, who seems to have forgotten his own name! Good to know that terrifying dreams are a requirement in the Nanjiani-Gordon household! Annie as the dog-human was hilarious! Doris and the baby body-swapper played by Erinn Hayes should compare notes! Mark McConville is always so great at playing "dopey-voiced guy."
  3. Because there's no music during the interview segment, I think there's no reason why he couldn't. It might be weird, but it would be great! Maybe the ancient curse that prohibits Eban from speaking is lifted only on the solstice or some shit.
  4. I feel like I'm missing a reference, but I like it.
  5. Between the monologue, the interview, the ad, and the improv, that makes four references to abusive relationships, none of which were a bummer, so good job, show? One of the weirder compliments I've given a podcast, but I stand by it. David's secret band story was amazing!! Because it was a long time ago and he felt remorse about it, I mean. If he were doing this now, I'd be concerned he was crazy. And bad at secrets. But PFT's hysterical reaction was one of the greatest moments of this show! I can't even pick a favourite part of the improv! The Irish and/or ghost secret cops, the strangely literate and precocious child gang, the people freaked out by the snake, the talking animals! #SixSeasonsAndAMovie!

    Best of 2015 Pt. 3

Tatiana's response, so cute! Edit: Was this even in part 3 or part 2? Who can remember anymore?

    Best of 2015 Pt. 4

I love Jason's confusion because he hadn't heard the earlier conversation. The ending song made me burst out laughing!
  8. Today I learned (from the Big Fat Quiz of the Year) that Roland Orzabal is a real music person! I don't know anything about music, but I remembered what I thought was a randomly named one-off podcast character from four months ago, so that tells you everything about my priorities!

    EPISODE 39 - Freeport, Illinois

I didn't get to see It's a Wonderful Life this Christmas, but I relistened to this episode and that's just as good.

    Best of 2015 Pt. 2

Time for the annual holiday tradition of PFT lamenting his inability (in his own opinion) to do a Johnny Carson impression. So much fun silliness, I died laughing at muppets fucking Khaleesi! How is Good Night in the Morning only #8 and not #1?!?!?!?

    Best of 2015 Pt. 1

Today I was talking to myself and happened to say "It's gonna be a while," then S'gonna be a while! came out of my mouth before I'd even decided to say it. Damn you, Scott!
  12. I didn't know Dr. Phil was an attorney general.

I hadn't, thanks for sharing. Beautiful!

    Best of 2015 Pt. 1

Oh man, I look forward to these every year (OK, this is only the second year since I started listening, but still.) I love Paul and Scott's riffing, and as fun as it is with Paul's characters, it's a special treat when he's himself. I was hoping for a cantina theme, and only had to wait one minute! The return of so many running gags we haven't heard from in a while, Technicality no down boo over, been awhile, how the bread is made, the widow Kulap, those miserly crones Mildred and Patty, making everything an acronym for no reason! I was rooting for "Is Y'all my Daddy" as an underdog episode, didn't see many others talking about it. I remember thinking (and tweeting) "Best Episode Ever" when it came out. Disappointed it just missed out on the list!

    EPISODE 39 - Freeport, Illinois

I love when Paul and Janet get to have a lot of scenes together and be sort of co-protagonists, like this one or Oil Change Place or Wine Tasting, they're a great team! The drunkenness killed me!

    EPISODE 39 - Freeport, Illinois

I was just thinking the other day that it's been too long since Tallman made an appearance and informed us which nerdy movies were coming out in his future which is our present! It's a Christmas miracle! Great episode!

    EPISODE 391 - 2015 Holiday Spectacular

Me too! I love him! Fortunately, he did do an ad in Spontaneanation the same day!
  18. Uh oh, things are starting to heat up in here, frosting conversation-wise. It's the episode all over again! Eban loves civil liberties as much as he loves not receiving the "Loud top" memo that everyone else got!
  19. Oh my god that frosting conversation was amazing. Everybody went from zero to completely losing their minds over the trivialest of points in a matter of seconds and it was hilarious! Especially "Now I'm worried I accidentally don't know what frosting is." Accidentally?
  20. 3.5 hours of Lauren and Paul podcasts in one day? The Earwolf gods look fondly upon us this day! I love Lauren, she was great in this episode and of course she sent things off the rails!

    EPISODE 36 - A Dinner Theater

Thanks to a relisten, I've had the "Blood full of HIV" song stuck in my head all day! I've had to stop myself from singing it because that song would be inappropriate while working in a hospital. I like how Paul and Colleen's audience characters were discussing the difference between upstage and downstage, and he cited the mnemonic "You go too far downstage, you fall down," and days later in the next episode, Paul fell off the stage upstage!
  22. I watched the video of this episode twice back in September, but I was still eager to hear the podcast version because this episode is so delightfully insane, definitely one of the best episodes. I'm glad they included the ad break time discussion, and at the end of the episode to avoid disrupting the flow of the inprov. If you're wondering why the audience giggled as Matt was introduced, it's because Paul reached out and patted the side of Matt's face without looking at him, and Matt kind of kissed the hand. If you're wondering why Matt thought he'd already talked about sanding off his fingerprints and engaging in "crime time" on the show, it's because he actually talked about it on Pistol Shrimps Radio that week. The Paul falling off the stage gif is great! I hope there's one of Andy's reaction to the watch hitting him, because it was hilarious. I enjoy when a sound effects mistake becomes part of the story, in this case Janet's confusion about "When are we?" when Maura Tuffy flirted with Dr. Nedermeyer leading to them having been married and him being the boys' father. Like everyone else here, I loved the Dr. Nedermeyer's wives sequence. You'd think they were going in forward chronological order, because they keep getting weirder and Andy got more freaked out, but it was the flashback noise every time, so they were in reverse order. So the marriages just got more normal, and he learned to chill out about all his wives drowning? It's hilarious either way!
