EPISODE 271 — Muskot Love
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
And Origami Mami: incredible Parker story. You were like a snake charmer on that bench that day. So cool. Keith Hernandez one time, at a chinese restaurant in St. Louis, near our house, the Peeking Inn, waved us over after we had been ogling him over our crab rangoon for a half an hour. Same thing. I think he just wanted the awkwardness to end. Then he offered each of us a bump of cocaine. We were 10. -
EPISODE 271 — Muskot Love
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Larry Bittner is underwriting a lot of it, FYI. As far as the sports thing, I think we both were realizing how fucking toxic we were to watch games with and it just wasn't fun for people to watch with us and at some point, that's just not cool. We have to learn how to control those emotions while watching. It's hard though. But it's a great lesson. Once again, sports teaches us, in a low stakes way, how to overcome that fear of losing or loss or something catastrophic going wrong. If we can control it while watching or know how to put it in it's proper place, (it's just a game), then maybe we can do it when a show of ours doesn't get picked up or we lose a role in a show. Kyle totally got it, he's such a great guy and a phenomenal comedic actor. Was a blast working with him on Playing House. If we have anything to say about it, we'll work with him again for sure. Thanks for the comments BTW, love to now be on these boards. R and J -
EPISODE 269.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 174
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
We are finally on this damn board. Let's try for no more crickets!!! We love it when discussion is sparked and community is formed. So in an effort to jump start it, we would love to participate in these forums. Gondelman was incredible. We got to spend some time with him the night before we recorded this at the Meltdown Show and he was fantastic. We were really impressed by his sports knowledge. A great writer and you could totally see why he's a valuable member of one of the best new shows on the air right now: Last Week Tonight. He will be back. -
EPISODE 270 — Drop the Hammer
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
As soon as Jason said Lewandowski or mispronounced his name, I knew he had screwed up and ruined our soccer cred for all time. Lewandowski is a fantastic player, so it's not that out of blue, this scoring spree. But still, it was impressive, even for a great striker of Lewandowski's prowess. Admittedly we haven't been as up on the BPL as we have in past years. -

EPISODE 270.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 175
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Guys, we are finally set up to comment on this message board and you know we have asked for discussions to be more elaborate. We appreciate everyone who does comment on this thing and take very seriously, what is said on here. So thank you. With regards to this episode, we had Scott Rogowsky who lives in NY on the west coast with us so we recorded him when we could, a short while back. It was also recorded in a limited time window with Dan, so we figured, rather than not do it, we would record all the stories with Dan and Scott while we had them both in the studio and we'd do the the other two parts of the show, the top and the end, at a later date. We were all set to release this show on the Gondelman week when we realized that we didn't have a secondary guest at the end. So we held this episode out, slid Gondelman in it's place, (because that show was done) and record the final bit for this show, late last week. That is why this episode sounded so choppy. Apologies, but we are happy to have had Scott on the show. He produced the Finding the Funny docs for us on Howl and he's a fantastic up and coming comedian who will do great things in this industry, for sure. We've spent a lot of time creating with him on the road and really just wanted our fans to get to know him a little bit because we love him so. We are going to try and weigh in as much as we can on these forums moving forward. R and J
