EPISODE 281.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 186
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
The Bearcat Scanner and or fuzz buster is a must. And a whole line of black market tasers. Staind, God and the Kardashians. This got real, really fast. -
EPISODE 281 — Temporary WCW Champion: David Arquette
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
totally baffling. Can't believe we didn't know it either. He was a really quality dude. He didn't die, we just like talking about him in the past tense. -
EPISODE 280.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 185

We were just "f" ing around attributing that to Rush. Although, can you deny that Neil Peart is a modern day bard? You CAN"T! He's as close as we can get, what a god damned song writer. Someone just tweeted us that we should get Rush on the podcast. We'd lose our minds. Thanks for being addicted to the pod. We love it when that happens. Keep listening. Keep participating on these message boards and of course, Henderson! -
haha! Great title.

EPISODE 279.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 184
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
How great is Hampton? He just falls into it so easily. A short hand. We've been writing comedy with that guy forever. He's just the best joke guy around because he's always thinking of the overall construction of things. Great to see his mind work and MST3K is a perfect fit for him, all the way! -
EPISODE 279 — Inside the NFL
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
thank you!!! Loved MJD. He will be back for sure. Consider him part of the Sklarbro family at this point. We loved having him on. As soon as we worked with him at NFL Network we knew he'd be great for the pod. He really was so honest. Loved that. -
EPISODE 277.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 182

Eugene is really an artist. Always seen him that way. He just comes at everything in such an interesting way. And he's the sweetest dude on the planet. -
EPISODE 277 — Crossing the Wine
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Great points to keep in mind, re: Tinder and crossing age lines. Not sure where this special will go and maybe it's material that other comedians would do. Honestly, we fear that more than we fear doing a bit about technology that might segment our audience, because we talk about sports to people in our audience who know nothing about sports. It's all about explaining it. But good to keep in mind. Thank you for your feedback on this. Also, we just found out the fight tinder Rumblr is a hoax so we probably won't do the bit. -
EPISODE 277 — Crossing the Wine
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Judah is the best. A LONGTIME friend who really opened up to us on this podcast. His book of drawings is incredible. And without being overt, incredibly revealing. We really meant what we said on the pod about after reading the book, feeling like we had spent some time in his head. Truly awesome. Proud of this ep. Hope you guys dig it. Plus, let us know about the fight tinder take at the beginning. We feel like it could be the last piece to our new stand up special. -
EPISODE 271 — Muskot Love

How psyched are you, still? -
EPISODE 274 — Tie Up Your Horse and Tie One On
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Amazing Article!!! Holy shit that said it so well. And from someone who is gay and a Mets fans. That's just the best. We really want to know what a person like that is thinking. What are the issues they are grappling with and reading the article, we totally get how complicated an issue it is. I loved how that person said, "maybe religion has to evolve more." Hold on a second, religion is the one force that tries it's hardest to suppress evolution. Creationists? Hello!!! But I like the hope in the article. I still think that person is giving Daniel Murphy too much of a pass. Just our humble opinions. And how sweet would it be if Daniel Murphy at some point in the near future, reversed his statements? That would be incredible. We can only hope. So glad about the discussions of the episodes. It's so fun to talk with you guys post episode. R and J -
EPISODE 276 — Bruges Traveler
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
We are now doing the Why isn't Rocky doing a Philly accent in our stand up as a way to sneak Phiwee Guy into the act. We tried it in Denver and got a great response. Hopefully we can hone it and it will be on our next special. -
EPISODE 275.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 180
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Not Besser. Earl Skakel. But that's a credit to Besser that any time you are even 5% suspicious, you immediately think Besser is up to something. Hilarious. Love it! -
EPISODE 274.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 179
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Great points all the way around about the homeowners insurance stuff. Maybe this woman was put in a bad position. Makes you hate insurance companies for not having a clause for this sort of thing. LIke couldn't this be filed under a freak family accident thing. She would still get the insurance money but she wouldn't have to accuse her nephew of anything. Insurance companies probably use that to their advantage. "She won't name her nephew in the suit." OR WILL SHE?!!!! -

Whip and Nay Nay!!!!!!!!! Want that to be in Dan's head forever. -
EPISODE 274 — Tie Up Your Horse and Tie One On
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Fair enough on the Murphy comments. See your points. We did speak about it when he came out with those comments, and at a time when the Mets weren't really relevant though. And yes, there are plenty of athletes who are way worse in terms of being intolerant under the guise of religion. That's a great point. But we would argue that religion has NO place in sports. There's nothing religious about them and therefore shouldn't exist in answers to questions. Maybe he could say something like, "I'm a deeply religious person and therefore conflicted on this issue. It's something I prefer to talk about and deal with personally and since it's an abstract idea now, it's hard for me to answer." Who could argue with that? -
Couldn't have loved doing this show more! DVK is a national treasure and this should be it's own show. There, I said it. -- Randy

EPISODE 273 — Houston Snowcone: Jumping The Shart
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Kyle is amazing. Really knows his sports but we are amazed at how fast he is in terms of chiming in with great bump up jokes whenever we are riffing around. His Houston Snowcone riff was inspired. For a guy who isn't a comedian, he has great instincts and we feel is the perfect guest for this show. We'll have him back for sure. Sorry about the pings. -
EPISODE 272.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 177
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
I'm in the middle of disc 2 and loving it so much. This is a walk though comedy past. It's just fun to listen to what the audience gets off on in the 80's vs. today. Audience evolution or devolution, however you choose to look at it, is fascinating and it too is chronicled here. Audiences were so fresh faced and not jaded back in the 80's but there is a great thru line in Wayne's comedy in every decade he is in. It was the only thing I listened to that made me laugh again after the Michigan loss this past weekend. (Randy) -
EPISODE 273.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 178
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
They totally won't let you sympathize with them and we get that. But seriously, we always remember losing to those Sandberg, Durham, Dernier, Jodi Davis teams. They had our number big time. They should have won more than they did. Fascinating given what is now happening in the NLCS running into the METS buzz saw. Who could have seen that coming. Thought the Cubs were the ones to beat. It just shows you how hard it is to keep the magic all the way through the playoffs to the end. Everybody has their own magic going on and it can turn on and defeat your magic at any time. It's like one giant angry game of magic the gathering. How great was Brad Morris, though? Solid, quality dude. -
EPISODE 272 — The Greatest Mascot Story Ever Told
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Great, call, it should have been that Fucking Pilot! Loved her energy in the room. She was so willing to play on the quick hits without much podcast experience. You totally get why she keeps getting hired for jobs. She's got it, in the room. Infectious and you just want to be into things with her. Her attitude toward her kids was great, real and refreshing too. Glad you guys, dug this episode. She's not someone who does a lot of podcasts and it's always great to have someone like that on the show. Thanks for all the comments. We are loving being on this board. Ask us any follow questions you want and we'll answer them here as best we can. -
EPISODE 272.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 177

Guys, Federman's album is incredible. Such a walk through comedy in the past 35 years. He's just someone we've known and loved for 20 years and was a huge fan of for a decade before that. And he's such a supporter of everyone else in comedy while being a happy contrarian. Always love hanging with him. Capturing it on mic is just a bonus. Definitely check out the Federman Chronicles. Comedy fans will totally love it. -

And there's a rose in the fisted fudge, and the eagle flies, with the fudge and if you can't be the one you fudge, honey, fudge the one you're with. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, Fudge -
EPISODE 270 — Drop the Hammer
Sklar Brothers For Reals replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Great Brew Crew talk in the Bornheimer episode we just dropped too. He was a huge Brewers fan growing up, the other side of our '82 triumph. It was the same conversation we had with Stonestreet about the '85 team. Everybody on the losing end of the stick feels like he or she was screwed. Seriously though, how great was Hamm giving us the insight to that amazing Emmy moment after he had won. Captivating in the room, guys. -
EPISODE 270.5 — SKLARBRO COUNTY 175

Would LOVE to do a finding the funny Montreal. Agree, it's an amazing place. We ate dinner outside one night we were there in the middle of the city during rush hour and never heard a horn honk. It was incredible! Also, Brandon's gotten so big, he's succeeded from Quebec. Thank you for taking the time to listen to the show and offer such great feedback. We really do love hearing it and for real take seriously, the comments that are made about our work. Even if we don't' agree with every comment made, they do make us think about why we do the things we do and perhaps more fiercely defend what we do. With a project like Finding the Funny, we really feel like it would make a great TV project as well and are in the process of pitching that around too. We'll keep you guys updated on that front as well.
