Reserving the spot for when a third Cameron joins the forum. It's only a matter of time.
-
Not to mention in the movie, one of the guys says, "Elias is a water-walker." If this doesn't hammer in the symbolism, I don't know what will.

Is Cameron, Cameron, and Cameron Attorneys at Law ruined now?
-
There a new Netflix movie “The Highwaymen” coming out soon - the B&C story told from the viewpoint of the lawmen who pursued them.
-
The thing is, I enjoyed his books (and his columns too) and these specific details are what I remember most. I wrote him a letter once and he sent me a lovely handwritten postcard. If that means he has too much time, then I don't mind LOL.

NOBODY DID Again, I haven't read Striptease, but that's kind of what Hiaasen's books are like - people get into very specific predicaments, like in one book there's a very specific plot involving a species of toads that live only on one island. As for solving the mystery on her own, in his books the protagonist often "teams up" with someone else, like a newspaper reporter in one book.

Oops, I meant I didn't think anyone here was knocking her. Yes, my tone gets lost because I forget to add text LOL.
-
No, I didn't think anyone was knocking her for being a secretary. I put the quotes on "just" a secretary because that's what the movie seemed to be emphasizing.

I'm playing catch up with my podcasts this week, but since americancrank above brought up Carl Hiaasen, I thought I might as well chime in. Earlier in the thread, several posters mentioned that they would have preferred if Erin was a former FBI agent or a former detective instead of "just" a secretary. I haven't read Striptease, but I've read a few of his later novels and one of the repeating themes includes a regular, normal person being unwittingly mired in a dastardly plot or criminal activity (often involving the environment) and have to sort of work themselves out of it by being clever and resourceful. So I could see why Erin wasn't in law enforcement to begin with. Also, there's a fair amount of wry humor in his books, and I assume that failed to translate well onto the screen in Striptease.

Are you talking about the first "spaceship" we see after the bone? According to Amazon trivia:

Another thing - Amy mentioned in the episode that Ginger Rogers sang "We're in the Money" backwards, but she was actually singing it in Pig Latin. Apparently one of the executives overheard Ginger goofing off in rehearsals and he liked it so much he asked her to sing it that way in the movie.

Oh ok. This reminds me of the scene where B&C are talking about marriage and Bonnie fantasizes about what they would do if a miracle happened and they could walk away and start their lives all over again. Clyde doesn't miss a beat and says he would live in a different state so that he could rob banks in the next state. His answer destroys Bonnie (because that's not what she was asking at all) and Clyde doesn't even realize it at first. Even in his fantasy life, he's robbing banks, FFS. One of the things I loved about this movie is the way heartbreak and suffering were often presented in parallel with the absurd and funny. There are many examples of this, but the one that struck me most is that scene.

You're so right. Buck also ordered a quart of milk.
-
Oh yeah, this reminds me, in Bonnie and Clyde, Buck orders groceries by phone and he orders 8 Dr Peppers. There were 5 people in the house. So what gives? I felt like CW didn't get any
-
Paul and Amy touched on this a little bit in the episode, but not only was Clyde supposed to be bisexual, there was supposed to be a menage a trois scene with Bonnie, Clyde, and their "strapping male getaway driver."

Musical Mondays Week 42 Blues Brothers

Sorry, I don't love this movie either. I'm wondering if it's because I first saw it as an adult and I'm not too familiar with 70s SNL? -
But he wants to eat my soul.

Just you. I thought the shape of the ship was cute, but those red eyes = evil.
