At the airport, Maile just leaves her car. When she and Elvis leave the airport, the car is parked in the parking lot! So the cop not only gave her a police escort, he parked her car for her? I was confused for a while who "Daddy" was. I wasn't sure if he was Angela Lansbury's husband or father. It didn't help that Jack was hanging out with them and he seemed more age appropriate for Angela's character.

It was bananas! Ellie tries to kill herself and Chad tries to help by...spanking her? WTF! And next morning at brunch, she's sitting on extra cushions plus that line you mentioned. I was watching it on Amazon and during the scene where Elvis disembarks the plane, the trivia said to turn up the volume to hear the screaming women in the background. He was mobbed wherever he went. Apparently there were over 8000 fans waiting for him outside his hotel when he first arrived. And yes, Chad comes off as an asshole most of the time, but I will say that I was a little charmed by goofball Elvis. Like the scene in the car where he sings Itsy Bitsy Spider Almost Always True, I thought his dumb faces he makes were kind of endearing. It was almost enough to make me forget about the terrible lyrics.

Boys will be boys! And also, Maile "catches" Elvis and Ms. Prentice kissing in his hotel room, but she's ok with it because she sees Ms. Prentice with Jack later. Like, ok Ms. Prentice isn't into Elvis in that way, but I feel like that should've raised at least half a red flag, given his history? And I'm still confused why Ms. Prentice kissed Elvis if she found her holiday romance with Jack.

And then, the first thing he wants to do with his girlfriend (actually the movie said he had been away for 2 years, not months), is to go for a swim?

I totally want a mud ball now. How did they have a straw on Mars?
