  1. Did anyone else have to freeze frame the ending to see who exactly was in the backseat of the getaway car? Gail and Andy were in the front seat, which is all fine, sure. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Mr. James and Jason's mom were sitting in the back. In the end scene, Jason gives Jessie a non-cursed necklace (hooray!) in the store with Meshach there, then they exit the store to get in the car. The 2 sycophants are outside to bid them adieu, but Mr. James is not with them, because he was already in the car apparently. I wonder if he was supposed to get together with Jason's mom? Because now that I think about it, what was even the point of Mr. James going to the match making service? Was it supposed to be a meet cute? We're gonna need a director's cut to get to the bottom of this. Also, the actor who played Mr. James was also the voice of the dad in the tv show Dinosaurs!
  2. Same name, but the facade looks different.
  3. Slightly OT question to all the mole people who might be reading this - why do you keep your mole hairs so long? A couple of days after watching this movie, I saw a guy with a big mole on his neck with several black hairs growing out of it, each at least 3 inches long. Why do this? I'm genuinely curious why is a thing.
  4. Possible correction - Paul said that Jason took Jessie to a souvlaki stand, but they ended up grabbing some Philly cheesesteaks (because Philadelphia). On the drive there, they did pass by a Souvlaki restaurant, but it was not a street vendor.

How dare you. Leonard Part 6 was one of my favorite movies growing up. It also gives me lobster cravings. Sometimes, this forum makes me think that the child-me had awful taste in movies. Howard the Duck, Batteries Not Included, Walk Like a Man, Gung Ho, Short Circuit, Little Monsters, Dutch... But I recently re-watched Vice Versa on Amazon and I still liked it A LOT.

Mark explaining what the crab was supposed to be: "Crab was the embodiment of this whole idea of Einsteinian theory of relativity." WAT.

This made me snort my tea, so thanks for that. Regarding crabs, could they have been influenced by Disney's Little Mermaid?

    Ask Paul!

Paul, what a delight to see you on Grace & Frankie. In this scene below, were you trying to point to your name badge to emphasize "Kyle"? Not sure if pointing to the empty space on the other side of your chest was on purpose, but it cracked me up so much.

    Episode 139 - Simply Irresistible

Well...I don't want to defend this movie too much, but she was at the Union Square green market. Some chefs do shop for ingredients there, although they would probably send someone else, and I've even seen menu items that specify ingredients from the green market. But like you said, these chefs have more budget to play around with.

I'd like to think that Paul was youtubing Cosby show themes because of the previous minisode thread.

    Episode 139 - Simply Irresistible

I don't understand SMG's plan. What is her mission? She saved her restaurant from going out of business and like 2 days later, she goes to cook at Jonathan's. Her dinner at Jonathan's was an obvious success - the nytimes critics were for sure going to write a glowing review - so what happens the next night? Does she go back to her mother's restaurant and risk getting SPF in trouble? How is he supposed to find another head chef with a magic crab at short notice? Or does she try to advance her culinary career by jumping ship to Jonathan's, where she is likely to become a Michelin starred chef? Why stop there? With the magic crab, couldn't she take over the world?

Maybe they were setting up for the end, where SMG coming down from the stairs (on her way to the cab) just misses SPF going into the elevator? If she had learned how to take the elevator, SMG and SPF could have met at the elevator. But then again, we would've missed out on the amazing paper airplane scene.

I think I would have more fun hanging out with crab than SPF. Did anyone notice Drew Nieporent's cameo? Who was the man at Jonathan's who recited a poem?

No, SMG said a good sex thought takes 20 minutes. What?! Ain't nobody got time for that.

    Episode 139 - Simply Irresistible

Was anyone else surprised that SMG abandons crab after cooking at Jonathan's? She gets into the crab and later we see French chef feeding crab. She clearly remembered to pack crab to go to Jonathan's, but she forgets about him because she's sad about Tom? Claws before bros, SMG. Also, wouldn't it have been great if at the last scene where SMG & Tom dance, SMG slides crab across the floor and Aunt Stella catches him like Louise Guzman and Madam Serena? SMQ needs to find out if Tom really likes her for her or if he's under a spell.
