This is my question! Is he so deep in it now he is ONLY Luigi and everything else that came before is gone? Is it a performance for the community? Does he feel he has to be this way or he's not showing proper deference to OG Luigi? Is Dye Job SO dumb that he has been Luigi's roommate for... Who knows how long (long enough for a pizza oven and the Lamp Garden) and either never noticed him bring someone home, noticed he never brought anyone home, or that he has never actually seen anyone he brings home (like they snuck in and out). So Many QUESTIONS!!!

Ok so do you guys think that this bare bones plot is salvageable? I kind of like the idea of a movie about the actual Little Italy in Toronto and complex family bonds and feuds. One that makes it clear that they AREN'T ridiculous stereotypes but that they still love their distinct heritage. That would mention what made their Little Italy the best one for them and the only place like it instead of a generic Brooklyn ish place. ( as @Cakebug Tranch mentions those wide pretty boulevards and friendly people, plus the close proximity to a bunch of other fascinating neighborhoods. It sounds like a fucking dream!). What do you guys think? Can this movie be saved and if so how would you do it? (This is just like... My barebones attempt at fixing this got mess. Obviously EVERYTHING needs to change. EXCEPT MORON SANDWICH. )

But Taylor there can be only one to two of us per film! How could a city like Toronto with one of the largest Pride events in North America POSSIBLY have more than two queer people?! How on earth could a city with the longest running queer theater and apparently a bunch more fascinating other LGBTQ+ history hold any more than that?!?! It's just impossible! I really do think maybe Little Italy is some kind of weird magic forsaken town no one can leave . Like a really stereotype -y Matrix Nikki just THINKS she was in London? Or maybe she's the Chosen One who alone can travel?

Was I the only one who thought that the dueling restaurant workers were siblings from the way they fought until they fell in love at the wedding? What is it with this movie and sibling undertones in the romance? Also why is THAT a category on pornhub? Sorry this question needs to be asked. Who wants to watch siblings going at it?? I'm concerned about you guys.

So I don't know how to say this because I feel like I'm going to be going into stereotypes but I'm going to try. So when Luigi says he became Luigi because Of Luigi (henceforth known as Mario for clarity sake) took him in because he was gay and everyone was very accepting in Little Italy. Which is Great! However in my experience with (some not all) Italian American men there is a deep seeded culture of toxic masculinity. Like big time. Machismo is a big deal. I'm not saying that it's impossible for Mario to embrace Luigi just that I feel like he probably would have had some issues unless he was closeted at work. Not that people would be like.... Violent. I've just experienced how oddly uncomfortable a certain type gets when coming in contact with anything they seem feminine or queer. They try to over assert their masculinity as if being gay somehow makes you less manly and by being the ULTRA man you could never possibly be taken as one? It's incomprehensible frankly.

Oh we feud VERY well. My grandma used to complain sometimes that she somehow raised 6 only children . To me the most offense part was really ... Just the whole movie? LOL. Mostly the accents and the general we're ITALIAN!!!!! and of COURSE that hair dye. That was just... Unforgivable.The fields of Canada will run red with that hair and make-up teams blood. #stew pee do for life

FUCKING THANK YOU!!!!!!! THIS WAS BOTHERING ME THE WHOLE MOVIE We get it! We ladies become shriveled hags the second we turn 25!!! But seriously FUCK this movie. Unless Phoebe (she will always be Phoebe from Charmed to me) got knocked up at 19 while Lay-O was 9 and her husband is like that other guy's unofficial little brother that that couple like... Took them in it something (I would actually watch this movie about a young teen couple with a baby living above a pizza place and finding this friendship and becoming adults)it's fucking sexist, agest bullshit.

Ok so I'm not really that Italian. My great grandmother is from Naples and I have a VAST array of second, third, fourth + cousins on my grandfather's side (actually on my grandma's side as well. Kentucky hillbillies also breed big extensive families). But outside of my great grandmother 's sauce recipe that sadly died with my grandma (truly a a horrific tragedy) and birthday cassata cakes we were pretty much like everyone else which I suspect is the case for most people outside of major cities and close knit cultural groups. So I'm not really qualified to say that this couldn't be someone's experience.... Maybe. In a racist fever dream... But honestly the only Italian moment for ME was when one of the mom's screams "MANGIA!" which means eat. My great grandmother used to apparently yell at my great grandpa Joe. " Mangia! Mangia! C'mon Joe! " To finish whatever food was left and it's something we often say at family dinners. So that was nice. That's honestly they only moment that felt authentic to me. Oh and the lamenting about waiting to die by the grandma... But that's just something a certain kind of grandparent does.

Congrats to your cousin! On the topic of the whole Throw Your Life And Career Away bit why couldn't fucking Dye Job go to London with her??!?! They could BOTH become successful restaurateurs and we could have a cut back to them visiting for the wedding. If one of the main complaints Nicki had was nothing changes here no one leaves, have them go off and start a new adventure and come home to the newly reopened Pizza Napoli. Fuck having her give everything up for a sallow faced pizza delivery boy !

So there's no way they would have been able to pull off the pot prank. I have never actually had marijuana anything because I'm allergic to smoke and as a giant nerd (until this year) would have been paranoid about getting in trouble with an edible. However because I have far less anxious, guilt ridden friends (which might be why they aren't so anxious) I now know that cooking with pot is fucking disgusting. I spent a night recently googling how to make weed butter without the very pungent smell for one. There are ways but cooking marijuana in an oven is going to release those smells. No matter how much oregano and other things that go on that pizza that place was going to REEK. Also it didn't look like they bothered to ground the marijuana up . Lay-O holds a huge clump. Frankly even if they had they should have been able to smell that there was something wrong with the oregano before cooking.

I thought it was all the old ladies from the retirement home.

I'm probably going to miss out on this one. I have been enjoying a week long migraine that I get about once a year and I'm a living knot of back pain from lying in bed for so long . So now I get the pleasure of having my physical therapist bringing my creaky body back to life tomorrow and I have a feeling it's going to suck but also feel great? Bodies are so weird why can't I just be a floating brain in robot conveyance! Hope you guys have fun!

So I'm gonna be drunk off my ass seeing Little Italy. Paul I blame you personally for my impending hangover. Also would it be weird to order another cassata cake even though it isn't my birthday? I feel like truly celebrating my Italian heritage the best way I know how by shoving sweet sweet liqoure soaked sponge cake filled with a ricotta filling and covered in a heavenly whipped cream frosting . It's the one thing I look forward to all year. To go with the pizza obviously. What's your favorite Italian food everyone?
