Ghosts of Mars (2001)

By the year 2025, the planet Mars, long inhabited by human settlers, has become the manifest destiny of an over-populated Earth. Nearly 640,000 people now live and work all over Mars, mining the planet for its abundant natural resources. But one of those mining operations has uncovered a deadly mother lode: a long dormant Martian civilization whose warriors are systematically taking over the bodies of human intruders. Predator 2 (1990)

What happens when you replace Arnold Schwarzenegger twice in one sequel? You get Predator 2, starring Danny Glover and Gary Busey, who play roles originally meant for Arnold. This special effects-heavy science fiction sequel moves the action from the first film's Amazon forest to the urban jungle of L.A. Danny Glover stars as Lt. Mike Harrigan, an LAPD detective baffled by his latest case, the ritualistic slaughter of several drug dealers by a devastating killer who leaves no traces. As Harrigan and his partners, Danny Archuletta (Ruben Blades), Leona Cantrell (Maria Conchita Alonso), and Jerry Lambert (Bill Paxton), try to figure out who or what killed the criminals, FBI investigator Stephen Keyes (Gary Busey) attempts to warn the team away from investigating further. When two of his team are killed in a particularly grisly way, Harrigan uncovers the truth -- their quarry is an alien creature that hunts humans for sport. Attracted to violence, its latest choice of prey is gun-toting Jamaican drug dealers. Keyes and his team know all about the nasty extraterrestrial and its bloody pastime because they've been studying it for ten years, and they've come up with a possible means of dispatching the beast. When that plan backfires, however, it comes down to Harrigan and an extremely irritated otherworldly foe, slugging it out in a rooftop confrontation.

    The Guyver (1991)

Featuring the 90's star power of Mark Hamill and Jimmie Walker...basically, Power Rangers on steroids and with better costumes/effects, but just as cheesy. A young man discovers a mechanical device that merges with his own body, turning him into a cyborg superhero. When strange creatures start appearing, trying to take the device back, he begins to uncover a secret plot to genetically engineer terrifying monsters. It's adaption of a very which was oddly made for kids.

    End of Days (1999)

Arnold Schwarzenegger vs The Devil.... At the end of the century, Satan visits New York in search of a bride. It's up to an ex-cop who now runs an elite security outfit to stop him. Apparently, Arnold had lined-up a starring role in Ridley Scott's version of I Am Legend, before it fell apart and it was repurposed as a Will Smith vehicle. Arnold still wanted to make a horror film and made this instead.

Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend (1985)

This 80's film started my obsession with dinosaurs, and actually has more violence than Jurassic Park, which was made almost a decade later. The film itself is actually based on the folklore that some types of dinosaurs have been spotted or live in remote jungles in the Congo, think of it as an African version of big foot. Oddly enough, I believe this might actually be considered a Disney film because of it's involvement with Touchstone and other Disney companies distributed it internationally. Baby: Secret of The Lost Legend stars William Kat from The Greatest American Hero and Sean Young from Blade Runner/Dune. A paleontologist and her husband discover a mother and baby brontosaurus in Africa, and try to protect them from a group of hunters intent on capturing the dinosaurs. Here's a short trailer for the film, plus the only action scene I could find (ignore the comical use of Street Fighter music). The special effects weren't bad, all things considered.
