A correction on the minisode: A different movie called “Deadfall” is free on Vudu. It stars Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde.

I did like how Dill couldn’t get out of bed until the alarm clock went off, reinforcing one of the rules of the game.

Not true. The first time Dill goes to the tackle shop the lady talks about how she heard from Consuela how mean the stepdad was.

If the game didn’t want Baker to kill the stepdad at the beginning, why did all the NPCs talk about the terrible things the stepdad did? After Baker tells The Rules who changed the game and why, The Rules agrees to help him kill. So why do the NPCs suddenly switch to encouraging him to fish? Shouldn’t there behaviors be reversed?

When Catherine (Diane Lane) visits Baker at his house/storage container, it starts with a wide exterior shot. She says she’s looking for her cat. When they both go inside, the camera returns to the same exterior shot and the cat has suddenly appeared. I thought this might be a reference to the glitching black cat in The Matrix; a sign of changed or broken code.

I only have one legitimate complaint: Why didn’t we meet any country singers inspired by the Country Bears? The only two singers who say they were fans of the Bears are pop singers! That’s like rap singers saying how they were influenced by Three Dog Night! (Come to think of it, why were Wycleaf John and Queen Latifah in this anyway?). Disney couldn’t find one young/youngish country singer for this? They could get Willie Nelson to talk but not sing? And how do you judge a contest between a fiddle and an electric guitar anyway?

If you saw Hercules available on the CON Tv app, it’s mislabelled. It’s a 1960’s one with Steve Reeves; not the 1983 one with Ferrigno. Also be aware Vudu is only streaming the sequel, Adventures of Hercules, for free.

Add my vote. And don't forget: The ending massacre is set to a gay fox on stage sitting on a giant silver penis singing about sodomy.

This was one of my favorite childhood movies and I will defend it to the death! It's everything you don't see in an action film. Some of the great things about this masterpiece: Yakov Smirnoff as thee US Secretary of Defense. John Lithgow plays the evil alien by impersonating Mussolini. Christopher Lloyd as "John Big-Boo-TAY". A used couch salesman has his own helicopter. The implication that members of Buckaroo's fan club, no matter how young, can be drafted into a fight at any time. Director's commentary that maintains Buckaroo is a real person. Why the watermelon is there. Both reasons.

I also recommend this. I wish Heaven was like it's portrayed in this movie.

My DVD only has one special feature: Each of the actors is asked what the movie's about. No one has the same answer. I think that's very telling.

I enjoy this film. It's a surreal piece of political satire with dream logic. The graphic novel prequels help establish the world, but really don't make the movie clearer. It's so bizarre, I'd love to hear the group go nuts trying to figure it out. It could be another Zardoz.
