    Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

I watched the 2-minute, 10-second trailer. It seemed like a feature-length film. Would the full film feel like an eternity? I think this is a solid recommendation for the gang.

    Revenge of the Ninja (1983)

Bump. I've been on an 80's ninja binge this week (American Ninja 1 & 2, Ninja III: The Domination). If the gang is up for another on the heels of Ninja Terminator, I think any of these would be great. Revenge seems like a good pick.
  4. Stroke it, Clarence Carter, but don't stroke so fast. Ok, stroke fast. Whatever it takes to get you out of my office.

    American Ninja (1985)

Steve James was pretty great. I didn't realize he passed so long ago. Both the first and second ones are fun and extremely watchable, even if they're bad. I did notice a continuity issue the first time they meet with the Marine named Wild Bill. They go to leave and Steve James turns to walk out first. The second guy is not Dudikoff but another white guy who looks like him. He was in the film later I think before they raided the ninja lair. I might have missed this, but when they were showing off all the SuperNinjas, why did Tojo Ken decide to put on a show and kill a bunch of them? To show he's the most super?

    American Ninja (1985)

Update: I watched a couple more ninja movies last night...American Ninja 2 and Ninja III: the Domination. They're both incredible choices for HDTGM and I think either of these would be suitable if the crew decides to do another ninja film.

    American Ninja (1985)

Hulk's ninja epic would be a good choice as well. Not sure which would have more meat on the bone. Or which would have the potential of being described as a fever dream by Jason. Maybe Joe Armstrong died or was near death in the initial attack and the rest of the movie was a fever dream? Or maybe it's all a fever dream, because it mentions he has amnesia so maybe the actual head blow he suffered put him into a coma. Either way, I think I'm watching this again tonight. Maybe part 2.

    American Ninja (1985)

I know this isn't high on the list with Ninja Terminator up next, but I'm so surprised this hasn't gotten more traction with HDTGM. I mean, after all it is a Cannon Group production. I just saw it for the first time, and wow is it bad. It's like a combination between Romancing the Stone (at least cutting high heels off shoes), Commando and a low-rent James Bond film. From the box cover: The deadliest art of The East is now in the hands of an American.

    The Uncanny (1977)

I feel like Donald Pleasance might be a goldmine of candidates for HDTGM. I was watching MST3K and saw the Pumaman episode. If they hadn't done that film, it would have been fun for the crew. In its stead, I thought this one might be worth recommending. My favorite parts are the RC airplane and gigantic cat scenes. Prince of Darkness is another that could be good for the show!

    The Uncanny (1977)

Cats rule! Plot In 1977, in Montreal, writer Wilbur Gray (Peter Cushing) visits his publisher Frank Richards (Ray Milland) to discuss his new book about cats. Wilbur believes that felines are supernatural creatures, and that they are the devil in disguise. Wilbur tells three tales to illustrate his thoughts: In 1912, in London, Miss Malkin (Joan Greenwood) is a wealthy woman who rewrites her will leaving her fortune to her cats rather than to her nephew Michael (Simon Williams). Her maid Janet (Susan Penhaligon), also mistress of Michael, steals one copy of the will from the lawyer's briefcase and tries to destroy the original copy which is kept in the safe. When Miss Malkin sees her attempt, Janet kills her. The cats avenge Miss Malkin. In 1975, in the Province of Quebec, the orphan Lucy (Katrina Holden) comes to live with her aunt Mrs. Blake (Alexandra Stewart), her husband (Donald Pilon), and her cousin Angela (Chloe Franks) after the death of her parents in a plane crash. Lucy brings her only friend, the cat Wellington, but her mean cousin forces her parents to get rid of Wellington. Lucy uses her mother's book of witchcraft to avenge Wellington. In 1936, in Hollywood, the actor Valentine De'ath (Donald Pleasence) replaces the blade of a fake pendulum to kill his actress wife (Catherine Bégin), and give his young mistress and aspiring actress (Samantha Eggar) a chance. The cat of his wife avenges her.

Bloodsport 4: The Dark Kumite (1999)

So do they enhance the chant to "Dark Kumite, Dark Kumite, Dark Kumite"? Also, I feel myself wanting to chant "Kumite" whenever I listen to a live show, regardless of how well it fits.

    Galaxy of Terror (1981)

A poor man's Alien, Galaxy of Terror came out two years after that masterpiece. It was a mid-career effort of Roger Corman. Maybe too gory for the crew to cover, but it's...interesting. Oh, and James Cameron worked on this film as a production designer. Just think, without it, he wouldn't have perfected Terminator and Aliens. Another one: Robert Englund was in it before the Nightmare series started. https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Galaxy_of_Terror "On a desolate, storm-lashed planet called Morganthus, the last survivor of a crashed spaceship is attacked and killed by an unseen force. On another planet a very long distance away, two figures are seen playing a strange game. One, an old woman named Mitri, is identified as the controller of the game while the other, whose head is obscured by a glowing ball of red light, turns out to be an all-powerful mystic called the Planet Master. The two speak cryptically of things being put into motion, and the Master instructs one of his military commanders to send a ship to Morganthus."
