    Episode 588 - Lil' Choices

I have listened to this episode twice already. This is Best Of material for sure. If ever there were to be a full episode on video (maybe some exist), I wish that this one was it. On another note, several mentions of Big Dog and him being gone too soon. Does anyone else think that Middle D was supposed to come in as Big Dog but told Scott he wanted to do something else instead?

    Mindgamers (2015)

I'm not actually sure what to say on this one. "A group of students attempt to create a wireless neural network of collective consciousness connected through a quantum computer. They discover that motor skills can be transferred through quantum theory and freely spread their technology, which they believe is a step towards intellectual freedom. The group later discovers they are a part of a larger, more sinister experiment." Trailer
  6. I have not seen this film yet. I've been slowly making my way through the podcast episode and decided to start over today. After about halfway through, I finally realized that I was picturing Keanu Reeves whenever they were talking about John Cusack. I imagine that would have been a much different ride.

    Boltneck (2000)

"“Boltneck was a masterpiece!”, Reynolds shouts – apparently having not checked the dud’s 34% rating on Rotten Tomatoes." https://deadline.com/2018/05/deadpool-2-trailer-ryan-reynolds-david-beckham-apology-boltneck-1202387395/
  10. I don't know if Jason watched the movies, but I saw in a Vanity Fair interview that he has listened to the audiobooks. Have you ever gone on a road trip like this yourself? There were years where I lived in New York but would come out to L.A. for pilot season for two and a half or three months, and I would drive every year. I’m trying to think of any good, weird stories. Honestly, most of them are just, like, me in the middle of the night listening to the Harry Potter audiobooks narrated by Jim Daleand just, like, openly weeping. And that’s not at all a joke [Laughs] I think people picture me driving cross-country as if I’m one of my characters, stopping at strip clubs and getting into bar fights. But it’s so much more likely that I would be like driving late into the night listening to Harry Potter and crying.

    Youngblood (1986)

Another bumparino for me. I feel like this one should get a little more interest. "Youngblood is what would happen if you threw Dirty Dancing, St. Elmo’s Fire, and a hockey puck into a cauldron. It’s deliciously ’80s, with an absurd amount of slow-motion hockey scenes, a fantastic training montage, an extremely cheesy but fun "hotshot athlete hooks up with the coach’s daughter" plotline, and a murderer’s row of icons from the decade: Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, and a brand-new Keanu Reeves. Out of every entry in Swayze’s ’80s oeuvre, Youngblood probably gets the least reverence, but it’s absolutely deserving of a cult movement." Training Montage Bar Scene: Lowe, Swayze, Reeves

    Dungeons & Dragons (2000)

Bump. BUMP. BUMP This one has to be done. There are D&D podcasts and I'm sure a host of one would love to come on and help roast this piece of shit.

    Never Back Down (2008)

It's like Karate Kid mixed with Fight Club...only complete shit! You know, partly because they throw in a bunch of teenage garbage. They remove the good elements and replace it with trash...and then double down. It even includes a fighting event called "The Beatdown"! Somehow, it was a financial success, so there's that... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8aGqjNM0k4 "Ready! Get some!"

    Gotti (2018)

I'll let the NY Post review do the talking. https://nypost.com/2018/06/15/gotti-flick-is-the-worst-mob-movie-of-all-time/ "‘Gotti’ flick is the worst mob movie of all-time"" "'...the long-awaited biopic about the Gambino crime boss' rise from made man to top dog took four directors, 44 producers and eight years to make. It shows. The finished product belongs in a cement bucket at the bottom of the river.'" "Travolta, who’s made a career out of Italian stereotypes, obviously thought the Dapper Don would be his Don Corleone. It’s his Chef Boyardee." Other notes: Nick Cassavetes and Joe Johnston were then also attached at different points to direct, as were Al Pacino, Lindsay Lohan and Ben Foster to star in various roles Joe Pesci was cast as Angelo Ruggiero early in development and gained 30 pounds in order to properly portray him. After having his salary cut and being recast as Lucchese underboss Anthony Casso, he sued Fiore Films for $3 million; the case was settled out of court. It was originally doing to be direct-to-VOD. Guys, you've jumped on the Travolta Train before. If you don't take a ride on this piece of garbage, to you I say, "“whatsamattayou?!”"

    Episode 206 - Little Italy

Maybe it's just me, but for me, this is one of the best episodes in a while. I enjoy guests and live shows, but this one with just the three hosts was a real treat. This movie initiated some good discussion! I had to look up how the film fared on ratings sites. --On IMDB, it has a 5.7 from nearly 5000 ratings. They're worth glancing at if you have time to kill. Not super high, but much higher than the film deserves. One of my favorite reviews: 7/10* It's OK Onetrack9713 January 2019 Accents all over the place. Alyssa's been eating lots of pizza! She's pretty annoying. --On Rotten Tomatoes, it's at 21% from 14 critic reviews. 71% from over 200 reviews. Interestingly enough, one critic giving the film 8.5/10 had this to say about the film: "Little Italy is a millennial's Romeo & Juliet." Also, I found another stereotype in the film. I present to you...the Canadian tuxedo.
