Austin HDTGM Show -- Additional Tickets Going on Sale

Guh, the damn thing froze when I tried to hit "add to cart" and by the time I got back, all but two random orchestra seats were sold out. I ended up grabbing a couple in Mezzanine in the back. I'm a bit miffed, but I got tickets I guess... -
This is the type of quality comment on my art that I live for

Doubt it, since I don't recall my area having any sort of alternative radio station and was stuck with mostly oldies and easy listening lol;; I didn't start expanding my listening selection till after I went to college. I'm pretty lame. I am setting my alarm for tomorrow!

As stated, I'm from Michigan. Never heard of The Toadies or that song before... but then again I've always been far behind in the music scene, so there's a lot I've never heard of.

Send me $10, I'll go back and get them.

Omg guys, we went to a comic book store today and I happened to see THIS release My roommate's immediate reaction was: Two Kurt Russells for the price of one. No, I did not buy them.

I'm not sure. I'd guess it's an age thing, but I grew up in Michigan with family in Ontario, so maybe I was just close enough to be exposed? Wasn't Bananaphone a meme for a while? I would think that would be the most recognizable...

On mobile so not gonna fuss with quoting, but to respond to Cam Bert... Raffi is awesome. I don't recall Joshua Giraffe, but I can definitely say that Apples and Bananas has never left me. Also always enjoyed his cover of Octopus's Garden. And thanks for sharing that poll from your students! Poor Raphael lol

I remember Pinocchio as being kinda dark, but it's been ages since I've watched it. Totally forgot about the extra donkey-boys. I do have a book of the original story of Pinocchio and I recommend it, because Pinocchio is an absolute little dick. Not quite a magical Disney tale, but pretty hilarious.

I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS BUT THEN IT CAME TO ME. IT'S NOT ANY SONG FROM THE RADIO BUT THIS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJ9yAV8uQ7g My mom has mentioned various times how as a baby I would not let them leave me alone unless The Muppets was on. To this day my dad will still randomly whistle the theme song (and I have myself a time or two). And thanks to various The Muppets VHS tapes, this led to my enjoyment of other songs that have stuck with me forever (such as the HDTGM favorite "Blue Bayou"), and my introduction to a variety of musical talent like Alice Cooper and Harry Belafonte. So yeah, it has to be this, because like Cakebug, the other music I listened to was whatever my parents selected on roadtrips, so while I do remember some of it, there's not a lot that I had any particular attachment to. And it would be mostly Peter, Paul and Mary.

Yeah, I don't think I'd chose him now. Nightcrawler is badass though. May discuss this more later.
-
I haven't followed anything X-men related in forever, but from the comics I always liked Nightcrawler and Kitty Pryde, neither of whom got any significant parts in the 90s cartoon. so 90s cartoon, idk, Rogue and Gambit?

I can't remember a time in my life when I've been able to have this sort of conversation about TMNT. I am taking it while I can.
-
I always liked Don, I think his inventiveness always resonated with me on a creative level. Though I liked Raphael a lot from the 1987 cartoon too. A couple years ago I got to meet Rob Paulsen (Raphael in 1987, Donatello in current cartoon) at a convention and was so excited I had him sign my 1987 TMNT DVD on the plastic instead of the paper insert. Whoops. Still awesome though!

The US opening theme was just so iconic, it's hard not to love it. I do appreciate how seriously Japan takes its opening/ending themes though.

Ohhhh, thooose... My roommate and I saw the second Bay movie in theater, because we were visiting my hometown and the theater there charges $5 a ticket so... We had such low expectations, we actually enjoyed it, but mostly for the stupidity that is Bebop and Rocksteady. The new movies are such a bizarre mess thrown together from the comics and the 1987 animated series, I can't look away. And you're welcome.

There's no Venus de Milo, so that alone puts the new show miles ahead. (I've only seen an episode or two, it's all right. Turtles Forever is my favorite.) There's also that time Japan turned the old cartoon into an obscure sentai show.
-
omg it's been forever. I'd watch that again. Donatello.
-
Understatement They haven't announced anything further on the Austin show yet, right? Right??
-
That is an awesome official name, but I may be biased since I like turtles.
