    Episode 182.5 - Minisode 182.5

I was worried this Ladybugs movie would just be uncomfortable sexual innuendos, but turns out there's racism too!
  2. No hanky panky until you clean and oil your weapon, mister.
  3. Would a gold leaf knife work? I'm on a budget... From another of my favorite fantasy authors, Patricia Briggs, on her quest to form silver bullets: http://hurog.com/articles/silver/silverbullets.shtml TLDR: It's harder than the Lone Ranger makes it look and you're probably better off filling a hollow point with silver.
  4. I was hoping it would be a Miami Connection soundtrack style band, explaining the story to the audience.
  5. He calls out Stirba as a special type of werewolf that is immune to silver. What I'd like to know is when titanium was first created/forged. What percentage purity does the titanium have to be to work? Were certain werewolves just unkillable until Stefan, constantly trying new metals, discovered titanium did the trick? Edit - looked it up and titanium was discovered in 1791 per Wikipedia. Assuming the immunity to titanium is inherited, wouldn't those allergic to silver have been culled out of the population leaving only the titanium wolves prior to 1791? Or are werewolves so hard to detect much less shoot that that didn't become a natural selection issue?
  6. Hannibal Buress saw the movie a bunch of times as a kid though. And he was as excited as a kid throughout his episode. But at the end of the day we all have preferences in our comedy/comedians and it's great that Paul and Co have the ability to get such a variety of guests. I may never listen to this episode again but I'm sure my favorite episodes are on another person's 'Do Not Listen' list.
  7. In a way, the mob on the road to the village was actually a first responder's dream* 1. They stayed with the old woman at the scene until help arrived 2. No one tried medical intervention that made things worse 3. No one went into hysterics and added chaos 4. They quickly dispersed AND cleared the road as soon as help arrived (no gawkers in that crowd) *if you ignore the werewolf murder plan
  8. I've heard Lillith and there's at least one book series (by Jeaniene Frost) that links Cain as the father of all vampires. He has to live on blood forever as a symbol of spilling his brother's blood. Sidenote - The more I saw those sunglasses on ?Deacon?, the more I was convinced you can't actually see out of them. Maybe he only looks down to see under them but keeps them on for fashion.
  9. Love her stand up. When she really has the space to tell a story it's great. Even the story about "Mr Thomas" was great. I just wish she had had real comments to add about the movie. Was anyone at the theater and know why Stephanie kept getting cut off? She was a pretty good guest when she was allowed to talk.
  10. She somehow manages to tell long winding stories a few times, despite not watching the movie. I think she's funny but it was like someone trying BS their way through a book report in front of the class. And I think she mentioned being a lesbian so much to distract from not knowing anything about the movie. The Youtube video replays the movie, so she could have just stayed and watched the first half (now well rested). Or apparently just come to the show early to watch which would have been a great bit and added to the show for her to talk about experiencing the movie with a crowd. Loved her interview on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me a few years ago. She does well with a panel to play off of if the format allows her to tell stories rather than fast paced wit.
  11. "I totally Juned this movie" needs to be a shirt. Also, maybe they avoided physical contact in the movie because the hair would tangle as much as come off. Can't spend all day untangling werewolf hair and separating the actors.

    Episode 179.5 - Minisode 179.5

My libraries have a heartbreaking lack of 80's movies for me to "enjoy". Sidenote - Any comedy podcasts you guys would recommend? Right now I listen to: - How Did This Get Made - My Dad Wrote a Porno - Little Podcast on the Prairie - Wait Wait Don't Tell Me - Says You - The Read - Welcome to Nightvale

But not The Howling 3: The Marsupials?

Correction (of sorts) - Necco wafers aren't just available in specialized candy stores. Maybe it's because I'm in New England, but they are in the candy at the checkout aisle. In case you impulsively decide to eat chalk...

Episode 179 - Second Sight: LIVE!

A tale as old as time.

Episode 179 - Second Sight: LIVE!

Perhaps she was deep nundercover from the beginning and only acting new? Or she comes from a powerful nunning family (that reproduces through divine miracle, of course)?

Episode 179 - Second Sight: LIVE!

Maybe they've realized that people don't follow directions well and still leave messages? I was a little offended on her behalf with the way Bobby treated her clothes, even if she seemed to treat it the way you would a toddler. Having a secretary that has to deal with wacky antics without batting an eye might be another Ghostbusters 'homage'. This would work too. They seem like they need an office manager but I have no idea how they afford one. Maybe she's in charge of Goober procurement, too.

Also, sexy in the eighties seemed to involve men with a lot of body hair (Selleck, Hasselhoff) and Fielding seems like he fits that bill. I don't want to find hair everywhere in my house unless I have a dog or a cat, so it's a no for me.

Episode 179 - Second Sight: LIVE!

The random doorman who knew so much about kidnapping was my favorite part of the movie. I agree with everyone who thought this was written like a TV show. It felt like several distinct episodes smushed together until nothing made sense.

    Episode 178.5 - Minisode 178.5

That's my feeling so far as well. It's very 80's and I understand why IMDB had a hard time writing a plot summary, but nothing amazing. Fun soundtrack, though.

Get Out was the movie for me this year. So amazing and so many things you notice looking back and rewatching.
  22. Is anyone else watching Jean Claude van Johnson with the one and only JCVD? It's amazing.
  23. I think Lois "flew" beside Superman instead of dangling because he was going so fast. She was like a windsock in a hurricane. I bet she wished she had goggles.
  24. You don't enjoy slo-mo, soft moon fighting?
  25. C&O -> I thought Violet's baby was aborted by the medical experimenters after she was infected? Or did I dream that while watching? The beginning of this movie totally came across as a setting up an AIDS/Holocaust parable but the writer had zero attention span and moved on to the next shiny idea in his head. - AIDS/Holocaust? - Worst dentist chair ever? - Motorcycles follow wall lines like Tron? - Don't open suitcase? - Open suitcase? - Vietnamese is make believe? - Bad guys are vampires but there's no time for them to do any vampire things? - etc... Also, the apartment building full of bad guys reminded me of Judge Dredd (newer one). Edit: Forgot to mention that Six reminded me of Seven from Stranger Things.
