Episode 188 - Body Rock: LIVE!

The Wayne's World Song - It immediately caught my attention early on in the movie when the song "Why You Wanna Break My Heart" was on in the background in the club (it plays again in the ending credits as well). This song is featured prominently in the 90s classic Waynes World and I had no idea it was a cover song and not an original number from "Crucial Taunt". Sure, Tia Carrere covered Ballroom Blitz when Wayne first meets Cassandra, but it seemed like "Why You Wanna Break my Heart" had been tailor made to fit the onscreen rift that was growing between Cassandra and Wayne. I had no idea it was a cover song, from the Body Rock soundtrack of all places. Quite the revelation... https://youtu.be/BGgv7je87hw
  3. My mind is blown that my all time favorite podcast has picked Freejack (as I have long wished they would). I have been paying musical tribute to this film in various forms for years (tongue-in-cheek, but with real childhood sentiment mixed in) and am actively working on a 6 song EP of movie inspired songs, TWO of which are Freejack themed. Here is the first of them, about how Rene Russo still looks good after all these years... https://youtu.be/RoMOC4aH0P0 P.S - I am aware that it's only an 18 year gap (not 30 years) and I could also see someone who hasn't seen the film being confused that I mean Mick Jagger when I say "put HIS brain inside my body", but HIS obviously means "Anthony Hopkins", it's just not explicitly spelled out because at the end of the day, they are song lyrics, not purely an exercise in Freejack plot exposition... also, in my haste to get a version I could share with y'all, there is a weird little audio glitch in the first 3 seconds. It's not just you! ENJOY!! Come find us at HomeBodyMusic.com if you like it!

    Episode 181 - Freejack: LIVE!

Also in the movie Stay Tuned, in the first few minutes, it's on the TV of the woman who (along with her husband) gets sucked into the TV. I have this as one of the points I wanted to bring to Paul's attention via the paul-ask # !

    Episode 181 - Freejack: LIVE!

Okay, so THIS is the movie that finally brought me onto the message boards after years of listening to this show! I LOVED this movie when I was a kid (I was probably 8 or 9 when I saw it the first time and practically wore out my VHS copy). Some interesting tidbits... 1 - Freejack has a companion 3 part comic adaptation. And yes, each one comes with a FREE GIANT POSTER!! 2 - The VHS copy started off with a bang! More specifically, a rocking Scorpions music video, with movie clips spliced in, for the killer track "Hit Between The Eyes" that plays over the ending credits... https://youtu.be/9OV6X8omXVU 3 - I love this movie SO much that, in my life as a musician, I have... A) an instrumental band called Freejack, with song names like "Nibble My Ear, For Luck" and "One Mississippi...Two Mississippi" (check it out on my SoundCloud page here https://soundcloud.com/user-4192054) and in one of my main projects, with vocals, we have not one, but two songs out of our upcoming 6 song EP that are dedicated to Freejack ("You Don't Need A New Body, You Need A New Soul" and "Rene"). Rene in particular has lyrics that would sound crazy to anyone unfamiliar with the film, but will absolutely delight anyone who has (you can find a Rene demo on that same Soundcloud page and I will be posting an updated version to my www.HomeBodyMusic.com site in the next day or two, in hopes of making it on the mini-episode!

How to tag the HDTGM team when posting to soundcloud...

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply and give those suggestions!
  8. Hello friends! I was wondering if thereโ€™s anyone who has created music for the show, and shared it via soundcloud, who can tell me what steps to take to make sure it has a chance of being found by the right people? Is it something you would add to the description when uploading? Do you share with them after uploading? Thanks in advance for any guidance!
