“Somebody get me a tie, and it better be red!” The level of crazy is only rivaled by the pointless plot points. Multiple 4th wall breaks, dissolving cats, costume decisions only rivaled by Elton John or RuPaul, and zero stakes for the immortal hero and villains. I am shocked and a little dismayed that this movie hasn’t been done yet.

It’s like someone watched “Get Shorty” and thought, “you know what this movie needs? Choreographed dance numbers, clunky hip-hop references, and Vince Vaughn on fire”. I watched “Be Cool”, so you know what that means....you shouldn’t!! As great as a movie as “Get Shorty” was “Be Cool” was equally as bad. Same jokes, and pretty much the same story. Way too self referential for it’s own good. Immediately it gets meta with it’s rating due to the # of times the F word is used and makes comments on selling out for sequels. Later, so much fuss is made about toupees and hair plugs that you almost feel bad for Travolta. An actually great cast can’t save a confusing and tired plot, or the lead actor going through the motions. This was painful to watch and I gladly paused it at the slightest opportunity. You keep getting introduced to A-list actors and hoping, “ok, they will save this”, and instead they are just another millstone around the movie’s neck. Finally, the shameless product promotion is ridiculous. Can’t believe Andre 3000 broke up Outkast for this.

Tall John and Jason acknowledged this movie in the latest episode!! It is on their radar! How have they not done this yet?!!? Fingers crossed that it is on the way.

I submit for your viewing pleasure, “Arcade” from 1993. Stars include Peter Billingsley (Ralphie from A Christmas Story), Megan Ward (from Encino Man, PCU, Freaked), Seth Green, COUNTESS OF DEVON A. J. Courtenay (née Langer) (My So-Called Life, Escape From LA) to name a few. Also the writer went on to do Batman Begins, Dark City, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman. CGI is so bad that it is hard to believe this was released the same year as Jurassic Park, Demolition Man, Last Action Hero, Leprechaun.....ok, maybe those last few are bad examples. Has the look of the VHS interactive games that you could play at home. Also has some good Amazon 5 star reviews. Enjoy, and give me that baby!!

Self bump for this one to stay relative

Having never seen the Eddie Murphy ones I can’t say that this was the worst Dolittle, but it sure has a shot at the crown. I fear that since Jason is one of the roles that means we won’t ever get a crack at this. The simple fact that the main plot point that we build toward is a dragon colonoscopy and a dragon fart is reason enough to do this one!!! Nevermind Downey’s “welsh” accent or the fact that the animals reference Star Trek and quote Nelson Mandela. It also makes the point that with a few weeks practice (depending on how long that boat ride was) that anyone can learn multiple animal languages. The only explanation for this movie is that Downey does bump his head early on in the movie and I can only hope the rest of the movie is a Jacob’s Ladder scenario.

Bumping to keep this in the radar. Currently on Amazon. ”Big” name actors with Troma-esque special effects. Also the drug company is the building from Bio-Dome.

Watched this again today. I also originally found it on the Strange Things DVD. I couldn’t ever decide who it was for. The idea and title almost seems like a kid/preteen movie, but there are some extremely adult moments if that is the case even for the 80s. I could just hear the HDTGM team commenting on it as I watched. Please put this movie on the short list of choices!!!

Alien Resurrection (1997)

Bumping to bring back to the top. It should be done for no other reasons than the basketball scene and Ryder drinking with boxing gloves on. -
The Dungeonmaster (1984)

Just watched this one and....wow? Begins with the coldest of cold opens (or should I say HOT open, as I’m sure Jason would). Bull from Night Court is the Devil, has a Dancersize??? segment, puppet demons; you know, everything a great movie needs. I would love a frame by frame breakdown of this piece of celluloid mastery. Also the non US title is Ragewar, which I’m not sure how that ties into the plot. Think Ready Player One without the nostalgia or quality. Also, this: -
Just watched this thanks to Quarantine; Holy Cow this is bad! No idea if the English dub makes it bad, or if it was just that bad to begin with. Favorite line, “you were beaten last time because of your lack of access to rocks” And just in case you needed another reason to watch, there is a Man-bear with a backpack minigun!

Replying to bump it up. Too many newer movies, need to get back to the goldmine that is the 80s!
