Continuing with the Phish theme might become a bit of a dead end, at least in this format it seems like Harris has done all he can. but I do want more podcasts where Scott makes fun of Harris. That's what works so well about these for me. There's just something about the two of them together that's so enjoyable to listen to.

Dirk, you've had one or two valid points to make that have been lost in the tirade of baseless accusations. You've been provoking and deliberately trying to upset people, all because you seem to be incapable of processing the possibility that some people actually like Totally Laime. Is it so hard to believe? - Jeff - I hate to say it, but I don't think making fun of his profile picture wasn't the classiest move, you don't need to resort to that. It might have something to do with why people like to remain anonymous on the internet. But I can understand your frustration.

Here's an idea for the host of next years show - Elizabeth Laime. She's got the right voice and energy to be the host of this kind of thing and it'd be a cute idea having last years winner hand over to next years winner.

Thanks for this extra episode, although it's kind of like someone offering you heroin after you've been in rehab for weeks. - Regarding the coaching sessions, I think you touched on this anyway, but perhaps the contestants need to be given more time to come up with an idea before the session so that they know what they're going to do. It could be a rule that they have to have come up with a proposal for what they're going to do, before the call. That way, the advice Matt gives would be specific to each podcast, rather than being general thoughts on the weeks challenge. - Regarding Left Handed Radio's exit, I still feel like the sketch they submitted that week was the best contribution of that challenge, even though I still didn't think it was particularly great and I felt strongly that Totally Laime had made by far the worst submission that week, and I think that's why there was such anger over it. Not only was the challenge much harder on LHR, but they still came up with a better clip regardless. Obviously you can't really do much to argue over subjective opinions, but I was pretty shocked at the time that the judges all thought it was by far the worst clip. - I really hope you do season 2, I'd still prefer it to be a challenge for comedy podcasts, and I'd hope it would be a similar format to this year, but just with some of the changes you've been discussing. I agree with Matt on the idea of doing genre's of podcasting, that it's too apples and oranges. If you want Earwolf to branch out into other areas of podcasting, I'd start out with a more professional show. Thanks again to everyone involved in working on The challenge, I really did enjoy the show.

Huh? I thought that was one of the funnier parts of the episode.

It's almost impossible to pick a favorite from that list. -
Good work Dustin. Fantastic to hear James Urbaniak on the show.

Episode 10.3 — The Final Challenge: Day 3

@Raymond I'm a little confused by comments I saw saying that it'd be good for Earwolf to have a female host. surely Apple Sisters, Who Charted, Professor Blastoff, and even How did this get Made? fills any token female host/co-host quota's Earwolf would need to fill. And from a business perspective, being an international podcasting station opens up Earwolf to wider audiences. - But yeah I don't really know what I'm talking about and I don't think Earwolf really stands to gain much from putting an amature podcast on their network, so none of this is relevant. -

Where have all these Totally Laime fans been the past few weeks? It would have brought some balance to the discussion if there'd been more people speaking up to defend them. -

I really appreciated the ad placement in this episode. That sounds damning if it's the only comment I can think to make. I liked the rest of the episode a lot as well.

Episode 10.3 — The Final Challenge: Day 3

The topic of when The Simpsons declined (season 9 when Mike Scully became showrunner) is a topic very close to my heart and I would have liked to have discussed this in more depth with Scott. Although I can see why someone would think season 5/6 was the point of the decline, because the style and tone of the show changed at the point, some might say for the better, others not. Also, the internet did already kind of exists in the form of newsgroups, and there were people ranting about the quality of the show then, which led to the "Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie Show" episode. Anyway as you were. -

Thanks for this series guys, I've got really invested in it, so thanks for all the work, time and effort that's been put into it, I can't wait for season 2. This was a really cool way to end the show, loved the discussion and analysis of the tournament and why certain decisions were made, that was all really interesting to listen to. I've been critical in this forum at times, but that answered a lot of the problems I had. - I'm disappointed with how things have ended up, I really strongly disagree with Scott and Jeff's decision but their discussion was so thoughtful and in-depth that I can't really argue with it, I don't doubt for a second that you both objectively enjoyed it more. - So congrats to all the podcasts that took part, well done Totally Laime. -

Well LDDC had the more engaging and funny conversation for me, their stories and questions take things into weirder territory, and they just seem to have a more unique point of view. Totally Laime have somewhat of a gimmick in being a husband and wife team, but they don't have personalities as strong as LDDC. - I will say I found myself wishing there was a woman in the room during the stripper story, it nearly got too much into boys club territory with that, but since the story and ended up being about the guilt and discomfort felt in getting a lap dance, it redeemed it and stopped it feeling too macho. -

Why would they need a female host to diversify they network? They have Professor Blastoff and Who Charted already. If they were thinking in terms of diversifying then putting on an Australian Podcast would help open up Earwolf to another market. - Also, I seem to be breaking the one post rule. -

Season? How do you define a Comedy Bang Bang season?

Yes he often reads out the rules during the bass part, I think sometimes he just wants to keep things moving, other times it's funnier to let it keep going, I'm sure there's different reasons why he might decide to cut it off early or just let it sustain.
