I'm a MST3K fan. I loved watching them on the Comedy Channel (pre-Comedy Central) and loved seeing them live. Some of my favorites are:
Â
- Mitchell
- Time of the Apes
- Wild Rebels
- Santa Claus vs. The Martians
- Catalina Caper
- Zombie Nightmare
- Sidehackers
- Fugitive Alien
- The Sinister Urge (Klein!)
Â
How I found about the show was I just popped it on one day, early Season 2, and fell in love with the show.
-
Who had more chemistry, Lance Bass and Emmanuelle Chriqui in On The Line or Robin Williams and Robin Wright in this?
Â
I'm going to go with Turd Sandwich

We've had a few thunderstorms and some rain in the last week, Portland weather is trying to take back control. But there's always a last gasp; gonna have a nice weekend. Time to grill the last of the corn from our garden (home grown veggies are the best) and can the rest of the tomatoes.
Â
Good thing I got to LA back in time before the thunderstorms hit. Spending 10 days in Portland was fantastic! Perfect weather and spent time with amazing people!

Second time listening to this episode! Terrell 'Emmer-Effing' Owens!
Â
A fantastic episode....that's all I can say about this one. It's flawless!

My brother loves this movie and I've been giving him shit for it since it first came out. I can't tell you how much this episode means to me. Every once in awhile I'll rub it in his face with a little "HOO..HA! HOO-HA!" marching song.
Â
That's the best part of the entire film! I loved that the composers used Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Welcome to the Pleasesuredome
-
I remember seeing this in the theater with my parents. Afterwards I was scolded for picking such a piece of shit.
Aside from what's been said on the podcast, the only question I have is why the Sea Swine (not monster) was even part of the film? I'm sure there's a 4 hour Sergio Leone directors cut somewhere where the Sea Swine was mentioned prior.. like a toy design somewhere in the general's office or something. That's the biggest WTF moment in the whole film, in a film that has a fuck ton of WTFs.
Â
Also, we know Robin Wright's costumes were fucking nuts, but was she channeling to be the next Doctor (the 13th Doctor)?

It seems like every other show forum has one of these, why not one for Jake.
Let's hear it folks. Who are guests you'd like to see on the Files?
Â
Starting off, I'd like to see Alex Winter be a guest on the show. I'm looking forward to seeing his new documentary, Downloaded. Since Jake brings in voices that usually don't get a chance to speak and have some fun, Alex would be a great ideal guest. Also, he's Bill S. Preston, Esq!

Congrats on a fantastic year, Jake

A giant "fuck yes!" for Baldurs Gate. Still have the expansion packs on my PC. Those games never get old.
Â
Have you tried the Baldur's Gate novels? If there was a podcast called 'Who Wrote This Crap?' I would nominate these books.

Two word recap:
Â
FUCKING LOVED IT!
Â
Â
Serious, what's great about Whooch is there's some great diversity in the guests. Sure most of them are comedian friends but having someone like Grey (and the likes of David Mack), makes the show that much more fun to listen to. And as always, Howard in top form.
Â
He's my hero.

My friend and I went to this taping and we laughed our asses off. Hearing it again, just made me love the podcast even more.
Jason was in top form just giving up and not giving a flying f**k about the film... killed me!

Great topic!
Well, I'm happy the gang chose one of my picks a long time ago (Godzilla), I'm sure I can list 5 that I could recommend:
Â
1. ON DEADLY GROUND
Zen master Steven Seagal gives us his fucking tour d' force speech about dangers of oil pollution. It's your typical Seagal action flick but with bad guy Michael Caine with what looks like painted on hair. Truly an awesomely bad film.
Â
2. THE BROWN BUNNY
Aside from Chloe Sevigny blowing Vincent Gallo onscreen, the premise of the film goes out the window. I'd love to hear Jason go apeshit on this one.
Â
3. ANY KATE HUDSON FILM THAT'S NOT "ALMOST FAMOUS"
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, My Best Friend's Girl, Bride Wars, Something Borrowed, Fool's Gold.... pick one. She's the queen of shit romcoms.
Â
4. ANY ADAM SANDLER FILM
Again, pick one... okay, aside from Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore.
Â
5. DOOGAL
I'll let the trailer speak what I can't type...
Â
Â
Chevy Chase, Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Fallon, Bill Hader, Jon Stewart....uh, yeah. Let's start that voice casting
-
Just to spice it up a bit....
Ken Nordine's Word Jazz. Good shit.
Â
-
Greatest ending to CBB ever!
Â
Damn I love you, Listler!

Did scott say 'A Nat Fraction' in the stamps ad? Does he write movies with Jim Rational Numbers?
Â
I thought he said Matt Fraction, a great comic book writer. Since Scott's a comic fan and all that....

Eugene Cordero fucking crushed it! I agreed with CruBolt that Tito Ben needs to be a recurring character. I did a Danny Thomas on my computer screen at work when Eugene was doing the backing vocals.
Â
Great episode.

Guys he wasn't calling Kulap "Ching Chong" he was calling himself that, I know everyone is so sensitive about race but come on. Ching Chong is a funny phrase and if anything is making fun of Chinese people which Kulap is not.
Â
You mean like Wesley Snipes here....

Â
Â
I enjoyed Armen. He was Wie Wie Lite, half the Howard but all of the flavor.
-
Epic interview with the World Champion! It was great hearing Judah on the Files. I loved hearing the behinds the scenes of American Splendor.... truly a great flick.
Â
Jake, you've been crushing it with guests! So far 2013 has been the Year of the Jake.

Ummmm....yeah. Not much to say about this

Thank you for having Jule Klausner on the County, gents. With the excpetion of PFT, Julie might be the greatest Earwolf guest of all time! She's funny, amazingly witty and downright amazing!

Jake,
A little setup here.
This is some talk show for J-Pop stars known as V6. I'm assuming it's a variety show geared towards the teens that follow them (like a J-Pop TRL). One of the segments is that young girls write in to the band and get their boyfriends to made up to be women. From there, well its just girls it the audience screaming Kawaii (cute)
Â
This clip, the boyfriend, Kentarou gets made up. I found a subtitled clip.
Â
Â
Â
There's tons of these videos up on YT.

Yeah, I knew about that. They first spoke about it when I saw them at the Paley Festival. But the best thing ever was at the festival had to have been all the members sit down in their chairs, facing the crowd after the applause settles down. Then they all stand up, grab the chairs, turn them around to the screen behind them and do an impromptu (probably scripted) new short..
Â
it was amazing!
