Thank you very much Smigg for answering my questions... To my knowledge during the filming and post-production process the teams behind some R rated movies take the time to shoot/edit A, B and C versions of some scenes so when the film airs on airplanes or national T.V. the content is suitable for young audiences. I have also read that Blockbuster video was very strict and didn't display/rent out movies that included unrated/un-cut/NC-17 versions of the film... Everything above the R Rating was not available in their stores. Personally I experienced this when I saw "The Hangover" (2009) in a movie theater in Venezuela... The scene where Mr. Chow jumps out of the car trunk was different, he was wearing Tighty Whities in the version that was shown down here... Also at the end credits with the photo montage the photos where a lady gives oral sex to Alan are pixelated... I.M.H.O. To 2 censor those scenes was pointless but what made all of that even more pointless was the fact that "The Hangover: Part II" (2011) and "The Hangover: Part III (2013)" were unaltered when shown In Venezuelan theaters...

Bottom line... "The Purge" fails to deliver.

Something tells me that the script or a early cut of the film ( at some point ) featured more of Lionel Shrike (Elias Koteas) but because of running time time or possible negative reaction before its final release, the ending was changed to the "Explain everything in the final scene" version If you go to chapter 11 on the "Now You See Me" DVD ( or fast forward to the 1 Hour 19 Minutes 43 Seconds Mark ) You can see sort of a quick clue in the scene where Dave Franco and Mark Ruffalo go down the building trash/garbage chute... And that is why I think that there are parts of this movie left on the cutting room floor...

Smigg... Your comment prompted me to ask you ( and any other forum members from the U.K. ) about your experience with BBFC movie ratings... Are you often surprised when you get to see the MPAA rated theatrical versions of films you've seen on local T.V. stations or at the Cinema??? Was "Sliver" censored or cut when it aired on Channel 5??? May I suggest the raunchy Dane Cook/Jessica Alba 2007 comedy "Good Luck Chuck"? (I didn't wait for a response but I suggested it anyway...) It is as raunchy and inappropriate as "The Love Guru" is bonkers and crazy AND... Again the beautiful Jessica Alba plays a girl who is unlucky at love... "Good Luck Chuck" is made for this podcast, just the opening scene where Chuck is a kid at a party and they are playing "7 minutes in heaven" is upsetting to say the least, also theres a "Total Recall" reference... After re-hearing this ep. my mind was blown... There is a possibility for Paul's Howard The Duck/Star Wars crossover theory to become a reality now that Disney owns Marvel And LucasFilm (Star Wars) I LITERALLY can't think straight right now...

* Possible spoilers for "High Tension" * I liked "High Tension" and I think that there is a set up (sort of) for the twist in the beginning where Marie has a dream that is mirrored at the end of the movie and throughout the movie when Alex is bound and gagged every time that Marie gets close to her she cringes and cries... Now we don't get any explanation for the sudden appearance of the bug exterminator truck/van As for "Now you see me" I saw it in theaters and fell for the first card trick and thought it was cool, but because of "the twist" (that effectively kills all the tension and makes the stakes and motivations pointless) for me this is a movie that has low re-watch value ( If none ) and I consider that after 1 or 2 viewings there's nothing more to see. Also I expected some kind of surprise in the last shot... NOPE! only a underwater shot of keys and a cut to black then credits... For me it's a "Meh" Movie that promises a lot when it begins but takes the "safe clichéd road" at the end...

Yes, they should do this movie eventually but, I.M.H.O., not right away... I wouldn't want June to feel tortured after all she went trough with Mortal Kombat. I'm really serious... Just reveling to her that this is also based on a video game could upset her big time...
