  1. I loved that first clip with the drunk guy who sounded like a hilariously overdone character. I still can't figure out whether Aaron's clips are supposed to be hilariously awful, or if they're just kind of chosen on the spur of the moment and come out that way.

  2. More taunting about the national tour. Can't wait for details. April or May would tie in nicely with Bridgetown.

Another great episode, the riddle was awesome and I also liked the paper clip uses. The triangle and toothpick thing I'd thought of, but the water idea was gold!

  3. IMDb lists 23 acting credits for Mr. Herzog.

    Β

I too was hoping to get a teaser about Werner's upcoming project with Garry Marshall, but at the end when they made the time travel jokes I realized that this pre-taped episode probably happened before PFT even finished up the Great Undiscovered Project.

  4. He's been gone so long, I figured they have to have given up. Or stopped while they were ahead, ala Calvin and Hobbes. However, his all-too-brief (but probably appropriately-long-for-tv) appearance on CBB:TV has given me a little hope. Will Scott hear our pleas? Can the best CDR character ever finally return? I'll always keep hoping.

  5. Just got done listening to Professor Blastoff, and the reviews are in: Kyle Dunnigan is hilarious! His spot-on impersonations combined with outstanding comedic timing and worldly knowledge make the show amazing. There's also a woman and a guy and a morbot... and don't forget mother!

Aaron - unfortunately I did not see your video. I did, however, find David.

  6. I've tried listening to the Folgelnest Files and really wanted to like it. I even sort of felt bad for not giving it more of a chance. His awkward, too-eager appearance on this, everyone's favorite podcast, has eliminated that lingering doubt. Thankfully PFT was around to actually make this funny, and he did an amazing job as usual of keeping things on track despite Jake's apparent incomprehension of the basics of his character bits.

    Β

So nice work, Scott and Paul for keeping this episode hilarious, despite the constant attempted derailing by Folgelnest. Julie was quiet but funny, and she did a good job getting into the joke on WYR.

  7. Yeah the too much content thing is great, and I don't want to sound like I'm complaining about Earwolf's success. I'm very excited about it, Scott Aukerman was my introduction to comedy podcasting years ago with CDR and I'm happy for his success.

    Β

I work in a busy poker room / bar, I talk to hundreds of people a week. I wear Earwolf shirts when I am not working. Of all of these hundreds of people I've talked to, only a couple listen to podcasts (or even know what they are) and only one has heard of Earwolf. So like 99% of the population isn't as well informed as we. I like to think Earwolf (and PB in this particular case) are growing, but since those numbers are so invisible it's hard to feel confident.

    Β

I hope our commentary will get Jeff and the other guys thinking, maybe find a way to make it a little clearer for the new guys. If it's a bit of a chore for people like me, I can't imagine a newbie would bother to turn off the TV and turn on some pods.

  8. Yeah it's not really a "you're going to lose listeners" gripe, but I certainly feel it's a "we want to attract new listeners" idea. Also it's just unfair and I tend to get upset about that sort of thing.

    Β

With the bonus episodes and other stuff that keeps appearing it does get tough to keep track of what is new, and I'm thinking stuff slips through. As well as the forum participation convenience. Chalkdust has a great point, if the new release isn't in the most-recent three or five, then it's impossible to find in a "recently available" list.

    Β

I can see six podcasts being released next Tuesday (HDTGM, Folgenest, Reality Show, I4H bonus, Sklarbro County, PB) and say the I4H bonus ep was the first one posted... it'd never really come to people's attention via Earwolf. Sure, I'd still get it through iTunes, but isn't the whole point of the Earwolf page to be a place other than iTunes where people will discover/enjoy Earwolf shows?

  9. I've started a thread over on Professor Blastoff's subforum, but I might as well mention it here... PB is really getting the short end of this new setup. For some reason Earwolf has decided to release 4-5 podcasts on Tuesday, traditional home of PB. So now, one of Earwolf's best and most venerable shows barely even makes the crawl on the top of the screen, and doesn't even get one day on the main front page. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, only one show (or occasionally two, like today) is released. So the new show gets to hang out on the front page two days.

    Β

So why are all the new comedy shows on Tuesday, while other days in the week are pretty well empty? Is Professor Blastoff so strong in listenership that it doesn't need the spotlight of the front page? Can't the shows be rotated in release times or something so PB isn't always the first to be shown, and first to be pushed off the front?

    Β

I'm probably the only one who cares. And I'll be honest, if I cared for any of the other podcasts being dumped out on Tuesday I might be less upset... the I4H release yesterday didn't bother me. But I figure if Tig can fight off cancer, I can make a ruckus for her podcast. Also, Kyle's been doing the Trump and Elvis impersonations lately so I sort of owe him.

  10. Kyle insisting on getting Elvis in at the end was awesome. And completely warranted. Good lord, when will the guests stop offering their learned opinions so Kyle can engage in a ridiculous derailing character?

    Β

I know that sounds sarcastic but honestly Kyle's characters are the best. I also enjoyed the elderly Mrs. Trump, but I don't think Tig understands that you have to use the words "huge," "luxurious," "solid gold," and "the best" at least every five words when impersonating a Trump family member. Soon Mrs. Trump will rival the old-timey clown horn in Tig's hilarious cast of impersonations.

  11. What is it about Tuesday that means they need to release so many podcasts at once? On Wednesday, I think there's only one new podcast, and that's the hilarious I4H. Why debut this new one on Tuesday? Five in one day?

    Β

I wouldn't be so worried if there was some tangible way of rating podcasts, but I just feel awful that PB can't even have it's 24 hours in the sun, while the shows that pushed PB off the page will hang out for a free ride tomorrow.

    Β

Again, just protective of PB, love Earwolf overall but am a loyal Blastronaut. Tig had cancer, for crying out loud, give her top billing.

  12. I have to agree with NE and Kickpuncher on their basic premise that the science on this is in fact settled, even if the debate and pseudo-science isn't. However, I am not going to let my passion on this subject turn me on either Green Circle Award-Winning Stephen Yates or any blastronaut who might feel the jury is still out. I also want to echo that I was very surprised at how one-sided the discussion was, in that it was primarily "who knows?" I expect comedy and some insight from PB, but Global Warming seems like such a slam-dunk.

    Β

Al Gay-ore was an hilarious addition to Kyle's cast of impressions. I was thrilled to hear more Trump. But my favorite was the recap of all of Kyle's crazy adventures. String those together and it's the "Best Of" show we're always looking for.

  13. I like the new design of Earwolf, and I am thrilled at the expanding success of the network, but one serious problem has come up with the new format. When Professor Blastoff episodes drop on Tuesday morning, they are immediately pushed off of the front page by Sklarbro County, Fogelnest, and HDTGM.

    Β

All I can ask is, why? Why can't PB, one of Earwolf's flagship shows, show up on the front page on release day? Am I just silly for not caring for any of those three podcasts and being disappointed when one of the best doesn't show up for random sufers-by to see?

    Β

    It's probably just me.
