First off, @Daniel...great points on the whole Dirkdrama. I think us actual Earwolf fans should institute our own ban of sad attention-seekers such as he. It's such a hard line to balance when these people post stuff like that. Should we defend sanity and actual acknowledge his ignorance with a retort? Or should we just act like nothing happened and never comment on it? I appreciate that Jeff and Scott are both here to keep the peace and make sure the less discernible listener doesn't start toying with ridiculous conspiracy theories for too long, but I would love to see them try to soley comment on the respectful and constructive posts only. Much easier for me to say this, as I'm not the one that the crazies are directing their crap to...but a man can dream. The funniest part of this whole thing is how much of a free pass Chester got after his less-than-stellar wrap up from the outset. I'm really enjoying the show and look forward to it each week. The judges banter was excellent this week and I love when the Earwolf family is brought in for any of the other shows. Some people may see this as an easy out for a guest spot, but I always feel they end up being the strongest shows because of the studio chemistry and our familiarity as listeners. e.i. Tig can talk about her Supreme Court experiences and since I listen to Blastoff, I already know what cases she has presided over. As she says when she is judging, it's all in the details. Brendan L

Made my weekend with the chatter love. You guys are doing a tremendous job keeping the show fresh and light hearted. If CBB, SC, or PB are dinner, then WC is definitely dessert. And everyone knows dessert is like the new meal anyways... Pringles can or not Howard, i'm totally jealous of the Auckerman bedroom. Where else can the Prince's Bat Dance be allowed to breath and be given its proper respect? Keep the forward momentum guys....you are straight killing it. I also second Dan's sentiment about maybe getting a quick listener recommended music review from Howard and Kulap....maybe not every show, but it was a cool addition (intential self serving idea). After listening to the instant classic with Scott, I thought we should all contirube music recommendations for their late night production efforts. I'll start with The Weeknd.....follow this link to download their free album. Lots of standouts, but #4 is the jam. http://the-weeknd.com/ Brendan L (L is for Lemons.....seriously that is my last name)

Tay III, great call on the Mos Def. I actually enjoy Modern Marvel from the same release almost as well for this type of situation. Mos Def is my man. I only recommended The Weeknd on sort of a guilty pleasure basis. Here are two of my truly favorite artists that get the job done:

Episode 3.3 — Concept & Content: Day 3
Mosdefjukie replied to admin's topic in The Earwolf Challenge
Brendan L here. I have to disagree with the last Brendan's comments above. - I don't think the judges are assuming the contestants are rank amatuers.....if you remember they actually asked each show for both the show's longevity and also the member's comedy backgrounds in the first week. Furthermore, I don't ever get the feeling the judges/hosts are treating anyone with less respect than they deserve. - From my perspective, the judges ARE household names...thats why they were asked to BE judges. Just because you potetially started listening to the challenge by way of a contestant, doesn't mean that they are as familiar with the general podcast listener. I haven't really watched much "Last Comic Standing", but I think there are some comparisons to be made between the structure of the contestents/judges. I rarely know the contestants of the show, but I always am familiar with the judges/host...even though they might not be HUGE mainstream comedy names. In addition, the contestants aren't usually "rank amateurs" either. Most have been in the game for awhile and just haven't gotten that little boost to get to the next fame tier. = Scott - to comment on Ben Folds....I'm usually the last person to cheer for bad stuff to happen to good people, but damn it makes for great song material. Since he got somewhat famous, less bad stuff has happened to him...i.e. he needs to more juice. Sometimes I dream of going to get an abortion with a girl I tolerate on a cold morning just to see if I can be emotionally scared enough to create magic. Episode 3.3 — Concept & Content: Day 3

This will be like the tenth different "Brendan" commenting on this thread. There are more different Brendan's on here than members of Left Handed Radio and F+ combined. A couple things stood out this week to me.... First, I felt the 2 minutes limit was such a HUGE advantage for the sketch shows because their format is geared much better for complete thoughts/ideas within that time limit. Going into this week, I was really down on Left Handed Radio and more excited about the Fort/Hamm Radio. After the clips for these shows, LHR definitely made me rethink my favorites. Their submission was so much tighter and more enjoyable than the other two. My initial perception of LHR was that of an annoying group of thespians sitting in the corner practicing over-the-top characters and wishing they were more popular....I was wrong and hope to be continuously proved wrong in further episodes. Second, I was pleasantly surprised by the Bob and Dan cast clip. I feel they have the most potential growth and feel their charm might overcome their lack of raw comedic talent. I felt the two early front runners, TL and TLDDS, submitted material that was predictable, but above average nonetheless. I'd like to say that this competition has been a great success so far and I hope that the contestants stay positive through criticism and near certain elimination. All of them, regardless of the commenting public's taste, should get huge props for subjecting their self expression to the judgement gauntlet....that alone puts them in a class by themselves. Lastly, to comment on the small controversy...Jesse is actually the perfect judge for this show and I strongly disagree with the notion that he was too harsh. His style of humor created some really funny moments during the haze of seriousness. I thought he was the first judge (I loved the others, don't get me wrong) that was not delivering his criticisms with kid gloves and covering them with excessive fluff. I think Jesse's voice is the real reason people tend to get that judgy feeling. His pipes are nearly tone perfect and he enunciates flawlessly. There is a small ounce of jealousy built up every time I hear that damn perfect radio voice. Brendan L -
The Tug slug really knocked this one out of the park. I was listening while driving and when he mentioned the two dog/missile on back scenario, I almost couldn't stop for the car in front of me.

Episode 109 — The Andy Samberg Special
Mosdefjukie replied to engineerdoug's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
You guys killed it this episode....taking bro chat back to the golden era. I have a diabolical plan to ride my motorcycle all the way to Tinseltown and break the plane break brecord. Can you have one of your guests with the lowest tolerance to hilarius rituals be on as well? I'm thinking Natasha Leggero, Zach G, or Tim Heidecker (at least the "Heidecker and Woods" Heidecker). Love them all, but I want a mid-summer meltdown with Doug or Scott and fisticuffs.
