Van Helsing. This awful movie really needs to be taken on (also a good Halloween choice).

Well, it certainly doesn't look good, but I wouldn't put it anywhere near Birdemic. The acting seems weak, but the actors seem to know the basics of acting. And for a low budget film, the CGI robots seem passable (except for that one covered in gore). Not saying that it wouldn't be a good pick, I just think people need to be more careful when tossing around Birdemic comparisons. That's next level shit.

Mazes and Monsters (1982)

I thought Hanks was doing OK... until "WHAT AM I DOING HERE!" He looked like he was wearing a mask made of his own flesh and fat. -
The comic is actually one of the most acclaimed of it's era for Marvel comics. Apparently the producers where big fan of the anti-authoritarian satire of the source material. And this was made. Very depressing. DO IT!

This one was a recurring part of my childhood. I found the monsters horrifying. Now, they are laughably ineffectual, as monsters go.

It really would be better to do the Box or Southland Tales. Donnie Darko has some faults and detractors who may be justified, but I think it's place in film cannon is generally a good movie. Kelly's other films are messy and self-indulgent (usually i don't mind self indulgent unless it fails horribly).

I did sort of just say that. Thing is, Yo Gabba Gabba is a great show for small children but by all accounts Oogieloves is bizarre yet having no personality of it's own. -
I think if they do it, they need an approach like with The Room and interview one of the actors.

My favourite thing is the quote "A gay GHOST" - the Washington Blade. Until I realized they meant the movie "Ghost", it was the most randomly insane thing ever.

I actually think Christian Jacobs would make a great host. He's the lead singer of the Aquabats, the creator of Yo Gabba Gabba (which Paul is on) and a funny guy. I think he could give some insight into where this insanely cynical kids movie went wrong. -
It definitely looks like it belongs and yet... this feels almost like it's trying to court such podcasts and such. I'd stay away from this one... for now.

This was a weird one. I think they wanted to show this guy was unpredictable, but it felt like the writers said "what's the most awful thing Travolta can do in this scene and then try to figure out why he would do this afterward." It really felt like it was trying way to hard to make a crazy fun character and just made an unlikable sociopath. -
Well, not really, but even I was to take that stance, it's still a great movie, despite the director being an asshole creep.

So is this more like if John Boorman made Star Wars with no money or anyone else with talent or if the guys who made Flesh Gordon tried to make a non-sexual movie.

Yeah, this one is pretty bad, and REALLY ugly. The twist, as stupid as it is, actually has potential for a fun tongue-in-cheek action movie, but this movie is such an unpleasant mess that it feels like a splattery fart all over the film. -
Joe Don Baker and Greydon Clark? Dear God. But that is one awesome intro. TOTALLY AWESOME VIDEOOO GAMES!

Yeah, I hear that even fans of the show were absolutely appalled by this. I think a fan of the show needs to be the guest to explain just how far off the mark this is. -
Personally, I think this one needs to be done and needs to be done with the Brothers Chaps from Homestar Runner and Yo Gabba! Gabba!. Anyone else think of some good guests for this episode?

Yeah, I'm also in the camp of Josie and the Pussycats being criminally underrated. I don't think I love it as much as some people, but I think it's a cool movie. Also brilliant use of product placement.

Yeah, Story of Riki should be done. If it ever pops up on Netflix I highly recommend it. -
I remember loving it too. I really need to revisit it and decide if the critics where right, if it was just ahead of it's time or both.
