It's back on Netflix FYI. I think I just might watch it again.

N/M someone beat me to it, but I didn't see

I know everyone loves Cage, and I do too, but I think that Travolta is just as good as Cage at creating bad movies. If one day there is a Mt. Rushmore of bad movie actors Travolta's face should definitely go on it.

I remember reading an article on cracked about the top 5ish failed promotions and this one was up there. Apparently they shelled out a TON of money to NASA to paint a billboard of this film on a rocket, however the launch had to be rescheduled and essentially launched and promoted the movie months after it had flopped at the box office. Also, the soundtrack has probably one of the most underrated Alice in Chains songs

I've had this on my "to see" list right next to Black Roses for a while. I think these two would make a great double feature for HDTGM

I remember there was one of the Blade movies, it was either this one or #2 they made a big big big deal about how hard the villain would be to defeat and then Blade comes in and with one slash of the sword cuts him in half, it was such an anti-climactic resolultion.

This movie seems like it is attempting to ride on the coat tails of American Beauty; a father in crisis, an angsty child, a couple of quirky unusual characters, etc.

My inner 15 year old boy is pretty excited about watching this.

Yeah, but a search for "stallone" should return it, although to be fair there has to be at least a page of Stallone recommendations.

Also, it's funny when you go to a film's IMDB page and see a specific actor recurring under the "People who liked this also liked..." In this case it's Hayden Christensen, meaning there are die hard Hayden Christensen fans out there in the world.

Say what you will about the story of this movie, but it actually lead to a scientific breakthrough: http://www.wired.com/2014/10/astrophysics-interstellar-black-hole/

I generally find Kevin Kline to be smug, he delivers his lines as if he's very very pleased with how he's doing it. However in this he looks like he actually avoids that pitfall. All that said, they really should have just kept the goth makeup on Anakin. It would have made Ep. 2 make so much more sense.

I admit that this movie makes very little sense, but they do a phenomenal job of establishing a creepy atmosphere that carries the movie entirely.

Isn't Jason into human sacrifice ala The Wicker Man (either one)?

I watch this film more as a series of paintings and don't try to take any more meaning in it than enjoying the visuals. Of course I'm the type of person that if someone describes a piece of music or a movie as "really weird" my ears perk up and want to check it out more.

This would be perfect for "James Lipton Presents: How Did This Get Made?"

There is a weird comedic undertone to this movie, especially with the Sean Connery stuff that has zero payoff. I think that the movie would still be a mess if it was played straightforwardly, but it would go from a horder's house of a mess to the morning after a party in films of a mess.

I would say that they're worth listening if for no other reason than because they have corrections and omissions which tie up loose ends from the regular episodes. There is other enjoyable content that you won't miss as well.

I got curious about what kind of movie Paul picks for the podcast films and had a little too much time on my hands so I thought I would attempt to answer this question. I figured that the IMDB keywords would probably be the best indicator of traits, so I copied all of the lists and aggregated them to see what key words were most common among HDTGM movies. Some of the films had as many as 250 keywords while others like Gooby only had a couple. I did not take any weighting into account and the keywords could be either very common or inaccurate, so bear in mind that this is just a rough attempt. This is the list of the most popular keywords. When I took all 101 movies and copied the keywords, I came up with a list of more than 10,000 combos, the vast majority of keywords had only one or two hit, so I am only showing you those that had 20 or more movies with that keyword Here it is broken down by genre, a film can be tagged with more than one genre on IMDB, so some movies hit multiple genres but here are the most popular genres for HDTGM movies: I filtered just for the word "based on" to get a view of the source material of the films, again there is some redundancy. It's a lot of data, so if anyone wants a list of movies that fall in any one of the categories or some other info let me know and I'm happy to post it.

Scanning this thread, I think I may be the only one, but was anyone puzzled by Gleeson's accent? At times it sounded like he was attempting for an American accent and failing, often even sounding Southern but at others it sounded like he gave up and just went with his natural Irish accent.

If anyone else pays way too much for movie channels and has Encore Play, Lake Placid is up for your viewing pleasure.

If they keep improving the series like this, Fast 10 will be The Seventh Seal with car chases
