I will say this, if YK Kim's character had been a mute, or just someone who spoke no English he would have actually been a halfway decent actor.
-
So Craig Robinson's accessory in This Is The End is an homage to the Dragon Song keyboardist. It all makes sense now.
-
I am watching this for the first time and I'm only 15 minutes in and I'm 100% in. This is the perfect kind of movie for HDTGM. Also, I just paused the movie to listen to Dragon Song's Friends twice.

If you've ever wondered why book adaptations are such a crap shoot

It seems so counter-intuitive that something you're picturing in your head is so hard to turn into an actual picture, but this breaks it down very nicely: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/why-every-movie-plot-follows-weirdly-specific-rules/ -
Can you imagine if this does well and they decide to start adapting other old testament stories? Not gonna lie, but I hope that Sodom and Gomorrah gets the Pompeii treatment. The flaming sword thing is giving me video game deja vu, except I can't remember which game I'm thinking of. However, if a flaming sword is ruining a movie where a man builds a giant ship, and manages to round up and load two of every single animal in 7 days and then more water than exists on the entire planet covers up all land well then I don't quite know what to tell you.

IF they were to do this they would have to do Thunder in Paradise, it's like Knight Rider meets Baywatch where you replace Hasselhoff with the Hulkster:
-
Why has Hulk Hogan's love of the "sweet sweet weed brother" not been discussed yet?
-
I've said before that they need to do this movie and get Norm as a guest. I love Courtney's body language in that clip.
-
Well it's from Darren Aronofsky, who has yet to make a bad film (and yes I saw The Fountain thank you very much). I have a feeling though that this is going to be like Passion of the Christ where people will have a hard time seeing through the source material to viewing it objectively.

I didn't realize that Ultraviolet is directed by the same guy as Equilibrium, and now I see that he is writing a remake of Point Break with Gerard Butler attached as Bodhi, oh boy (although I did like Chasing Mavericks)
-
I want to come into this thread and say that I like it, but I haven't seen it in over a decade, so I may not enjoy it as much now (however, I do have a soft spot for dystopias)
-
I'm curious, what scenes do you think are cheesy?
-
Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever and Ultraviolet MUST be covered before Equilibrium should even be considered.
-
I don't think it's fair to say Equilibrium is dumb in the same vein as Boondock Saints because it ripped off Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451. It's more fair to say that anything it brings to the table is unoriginal.
-
Have you ever seen a real blaxploitation movie? They are cheesy as hell. How can you have a parody of a cheesy genre and not have it be cheesy?
-
I keep seeing this movie listed on HBO on my guide and just the mere appearance of the name is making me mad at the twist.
-
I'm already liking this idea more than RIPD
-
I would imagine that if your job was to review movies and as a result you had to watch nearly every movie that comes out, after having seen Hercules and Pompeii this movie would feel like a masterpiece.
-
There's also possibility #3, he refuses to cut his hair and can only take roles that will let him keep it long.
-
Caught this again the other night, it's running on Cinemax.
-
I am predicting that this will be true until Seventh Son comes out. This movie got shuffled from Sept 2013 to Feb 2014 to Feb 2015. It's stuck in dump month limbo, that says something.
-
I recall seeing an episode of Entertainment Tonight when the movie was just about to come out. If I recall correctly, they said that a huge part of the budget was the scene where he dives to the bottom of the ocean. They said that they had to shoot a ridiculous number of takes of that scene because even the tiniest bubble coming from Costner's nose or mouth would make it impossible to edit out with the green screen.

I LOVED the TV show, but was pretty disappointed with the movie.

Which Christopher Lambert movie should we pick for HDTGM?
Lando replied to jimkiler's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I watched Highlander 2: The Renegade Edition last night. It has this weird, sort of Paul Verhoven-esque comedic undertone. It's one of those things that it works when Verhoven does it, but not when anyone else does it. -
I remember that, plus didn't he also say that he had gotten into bodybuilding? All of it made him seem really douchy, but from all accounts he is a super nice guy.
