I would probably go the opposite direction and give EDI really shitty taste. EDI would either be into terrible novelty songs like Who Let The Dogs Out and Mambo #5 or 2nd tier nu metal bands like Crazy Town

So sorry to hear about June's father.

There is no shame in being an Incubus fan. Hell if there was an awful movie whose soundtrack had 10 of my all time favorite songs on it and Jason ripped it to shreds and called it the shittiest music he had ever heard in his life I would probably be laughing my ass off. I would still probably come here to defend it though.

Hey don't fret, I am glad to have back up on dredg. If "Bug Eyes is an awesome song" is this thread's "Jim Steinman wrote the music for this movie" then I will be happy with that. Also so it was the credits. I couldn't remember where it played in the film, for some reason I thought it played very briefly in a non-flight scene, but I was not prepared to rewatch the entire movie to figure out where it was played.

So about the music I want to say two things. 1. I am not sure how to gauge a band's popularity, but was curious about whether or not Incubus is still popular. For reference they have about 5.5M likes on Facebook (and quite a few of my friends like them, not to say I have cool friends though.). For contemporary reference Limp Bizkit has 4.9M, Hoobastank has 2M and Papa Roach has 6M (But Linkin Park has 62M likes!!!!!!) where as Smash Mouth--a band that was popular and nobody wants to admit to liking now--has only 119k likes. I am not entirely sure what my point is other than at minimum people have not unliked Incubus on Facebook and rejected them en masse. 2. Dredg's Bug Eyes was played briefly and is still an fantastic song: On a personal note, while I have been typing this up various songs from Catch Without Arms (the album with Bug Eyes) have been playing and reminding me of how much I enjoy this album. Thank you Stealth for that, I will be enjoying this album all week.

Here's my idea on the Sequel based on that post-credit sequence: EDI is plugged into the North Korean "internet" Kwangmyong and reads all of Kim Il-Sung's writings and decides to overthrow Kim Jong-Un and seize his title as Eternal President as the reincarnation of Kim Il-Sung. Josh Lucas must reenter NK to remind EDI of their bromance and convince him (through the power of Incubus) that they were once bros and what he is doing is wrong.

This movie seems to think that the DMZ is like the border between Canada and the US: We are told that Jessica Biel crash lands just outside the DMZ, within scampering distance to the border. Which means that there was a giant explosion in the sky near one of the most tense, tightly controlled and heavily monitored places on this planet and nobody notices. Not the villagers, not the North Koreans not the South Koreans. Even after Jessica Biel lands safely and unnoticed on the ground of North Korea she is spotted by the North Korean military and yet only ever chased by a couple of NK officers. They don't notify their superiors that a person from a foreign military is within their borders headed in the direction the DMZ, they just purse her themselves. After of all of that they inform us that South Korea is an ally (just in case you weren't sure), which apparently means that we get to show up to the border with their mortal enemies unannounced in weird never before seen planes, fire missiles at the border, explode another plane and hitch a ride out with the South Koreans and nobody will care.

I need to do some catching up on this list. Cameron you will feel silly when there is a HUGE Incubus revival in 2020, especially among fighter pilots.

The first hour and a half of this movie was pretty boring, it had some bad dialog some cliched tropes, etc. but there was not much to it. IMO the last 30 minutes of it is where it really goes off the rails and earns its place as an HDTGM film. The first 3/4th of the film felt like it wanted to be a Renny Harlin movie and TBH I think I would have preferred a version directed by Renny.

On a semi-related note, Lucas Till, AKA Havok is playing MacGyver in the reboot: This looks terrible. It will probably be a hit.

I am about halfway done with Stealth and pretty bored with it. I think Jamie Foxx just died, but I was not paying attention and I don't feel the need to rewind it. That said they have made some good episodes from boring movies.

Oof this reminds me of the scene in Star Wars Episode 3 where Emperor Palpatine has a quick transformation into his 4-6 form. I don't know if they explained Xavier's baldness in the comics, but if they had just given McAvoy a wig with a bald top, I think we could have done the math.

He says something like "I'm eating a space turd" it's the high point in the movie. Enough said.

This falls into the "wow, they thought this was appropriate for kids?" category. I was going to say this reminds me of "Kazaam" but the kid says "I'm Shaquille O'Neal" and if you go to the IMDB page the "More like this" some of the movies listed are Kazaam, Super Mario Brothers and Blank Check. The special effects in this movie look like they were made by David Cronenberg, especially inside the suit. (and just a reminder, it's a kids movie) The outside of the suit is creepy, especially when it's stalking the female interest at the fair. It even has some steel buns.

Ok, so I looked at what I have seen that has a 2016 release date and 1. Deadpool 2. Fundamentals of Caring 3. 10 Cloverfield Lane 4. Pee-wee's Big Holiday 5. Special Correspondents 3 of those were released via Netflix and a few halfway decent movies could give me an entirely different list. Funny enough I probably will watch about a total of 200 movies in 2016 (Netflix, on demand, etc.), just very few of them will be from 2016. I wonder if I have listened to 5 albums from 2016 yet, I doubt it.

My top 5 movies of 2016 list would just be called "5 movies that I have seen from 2016 that aren't Sharknado 4"

Just wanted to pop in to say hey everyone. I was working on a project over the summer that ate up all of my time and sucked to work on. However, about the same time that I finished the project my company blocked earwolf.com on whole (today I am working from home). PS Congratulations Cameron!

I am watching this now. JCVD plays dual roles of possibly the sloppiest serial killer with the weirdest MO and a dog-like (behaviorally) clone of said serial killer. I know they've done a lot of JCVD movies already, but this one is definitely worth doing.

Me watching Hachi: A Dog's Tale

I think at one point I knew that Gods of Egypt was directed by Alex Proyas, but tried to suppress that knowledge from my head. What happened to that guy? He started off really well with The Crow (which does not hold up, but at least at the time it had a strong cult following), Dark City (which I still love) and I Robot, but then he did Knowing and now Gods of Egypt. It's like he's following the M. Night Shyamalan career plan.

This, like LOL, seems like it would somehow make much more sense in the original French version than the American remake.

Episode 142 - The Phantom: LIVE! (w/ Eliza Skinner, Ed Brubaker)
Lando replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Is this movie a Jacob's Ladder of the boy that jumps overboard as his family is being slaughtered? -
Episode 142 - The Phantom: LIVE! (w/ Eliza Skinner, Ed Brubaker)
Lando replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Not entirely, it just means that the average time as a Phantom is 14 years (assuming that you immediately become the phantom once the prior Phantom dies, but that would also mean that the average age that a Phantom becomes such is less than 14 and dies before the age of 28). -
So they are gonna review Sharknado 4 right?
Lando replied to Numlocks's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I would joke that in Sharknado 5 Henry Winkler will make an appearance to jump over the sharknado on his motorcycle, but it would be too absurd of a joke to make since Winkler's career is far too strong to make a cameo in the series. -
This strikes me as trying to ride a wave of nostalgia for something that people aren't particularly nostalgic for.
