They tried to justify it by saying that planets that could hold life were very scarce in the universe and they weren't going to blow us up exactly, they were going to destroy our technology and kill all of us with nano-bugs. However, I always thought it was absurd that these aliens with advanced technology would find it easier to kill us than just give us better technology. This movie should have been about 5 minutes long.

I have gone through several times looking for movies that have no business on the list to vote 1 garbage can. Maybe I should submit Alien and The Godfather just because I can (not really though, but I imagine it will happen at some point)

I've heard that addressed in that your body replaces the vast majority of its matter every seven or so years. I'm pulling that from memory, so it might not be quite accurate, but it's true, your body generates new and sheds old cells all the time.

I just want to say people submit some weird weird shit on FYI. Amistad? A 2 & 1/2 hr legal period piece for an episode of HDTGM?

This movie is like Reindeer Games' Skeet Ulrich.

I use "Skeet Ulrich" as a synonym for "poor man's version of..." For example: Mr. Pibb = Dr. Skeeter Waterworld = Mad Max: The Skeet Warrior Jeffrey Dean Morgan = Skeet Downey Ulrich etc.

Is there a way you can add an option to sort by the latest added (maybe also: most voted on, average user rating, rt ratings, etc. as well)? I spend way too much time on this forum and will also spend way too much time on FYI, so I would love a way to find movies that I have not yet had a chance to weigh in on.

If you were to take Tim Burton's entire catalog of movies and split it in half with half of his movies going in a "good" pile and the other half going into a "bad" pile this one would end up in the "good" pile. He has made so many worse movies in the 2000s which by comparison makes Mars Attacks a "good for Tim Burton" movie. And even with that said, I enjoy this movie as a comedy. It's not one of Burton's best, but there are some funny parts in it.

Wow, this is incredible. Shariq did a fantastic job on this.

I think that they could do this movie, but ONLY as a two part episode to give both the hosts and audience breathing room to watch it.

So far HDTGM has been politics-free and I like that. I don't think it would be possible to do Atlas Shrugged in an apolitical manner.

I think the reason why Michael Bay movies have not been done yet is because they are fucking loooooooong. Pearl Harbor is 3 mind numbing hours long and the Transformers are all around 2 & 1/2 hours each. I know Paul has remarked about how some of the two hour movies are long and I know he does not want to torture the listeners any more than he has to.

I read that Tango & Cash was originally written for Arnie and Sly, but Arnie couldn't do it due to schedule conflicts. I also saw that Sly is scheduled for the sequel to Twins, Triplets. Not particularly looking forward to that one even though I enjoyed Twins.

During this issue Jason asks "what's up with the "I'll be back" reference?" In the 90s there were some cross references between Arnie and Sly in their comedies off the top of my head I can think of: * Demolition Man mentions "President Schwarzenegger" * Tango & Cash references Conan The Barbarian * True Lies references Rambo * Rambo poster prominently featured in Twins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yT723LG74o As you can see it was a running gag.

Maybe Paul as himself, occasionally doing his impression? He does do a great impression.

Paul is very funny and very talented, but I usually skip Doug Loves Movies episodes with schtick guests. It's a lot to fill an entire hour with those impressions and it gets old after a little bit IMO.

And I was wrong, it was released on DVD last year and you can see it on vudu.

This movie is soooo bad and I don't think it's been done much that it's a good choice for them. However is it easy to find? I think it's relatively hard to find as I don't think it was ever released on DVD and it's not available for streaming anywhere (I'd be happy to find out that I was wrong) I remember when I was a kid and thought wrestling was real this movie was awesome. I thought that the "teeny wangers" thing was the height of comedy. I caught it on TV about 5 years ago and enjoyed it on a whole new level.
