Richard Simmons would have been a pretty good get for Sharknado 4. I felt pretty bad for Wayne Newton when he popped up for his cameo.- 40 replies

Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens (2016)
Lando replied to jarrycanada's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
So this guy is actually Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D from 2013, so it's both a tribute and a reference that makes more sense than the confused Christine reference. It's also another good example of the weakness of the cameos this go around.- 40 replies

Whenever someone brings up a movie like this I want to sarcastically suggest Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain, and then I remember that there is actually already a thread for Holy Mountain and get a little bit sad.

Paul, if a person was to send t-shirts for yourself, Jason and June in a care package, what size would would that hypothetical person send?

I did some digging on the IMDB boards and it appears that it was a Grease 2 reference: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4831420/board/thread/259975888- 40 replies

I think that it was a combo misplaced crossover and cameo. Alexandra Paul also of Baywatch was in Christine and Steve Gutenberg is in 2 Lava 2 Lantua.- 40 replies

Honestly, I had my computer in front of me and did not pay attention for the majority of it. If I had tried to sit there and pay attention I would have been so bored.- 40 replies

Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens (2016)

My stray observations: Gary Busey as Tara Reid's father explains a lot. Actually, Busey was probably my favorite in the movie, he seemed like the only one that put any effort into acting By this point, I can usually tell when some role is supposed to be a cameo, but I honestly have no idea who most of these people are. Am I out of touch with pop culture or are they scraping the bottom of the barrel on cameos Tara Reid as a robot is a lot more believable than Tara Reid as a human being. They must have had to pay Disney to say "May the force be with you" and it was such a weak payoff.- 40 replies

I DVR'd it last night, and I feel oddly committed to watching it, even though each Sharknado has brought less enjoyment than the previous.- 40 replies

Episode 141 - The Shadow: LIVE! (w/ Pete Davidson)
Lando replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
That's a good point, I know a few people that got fooled into watching Transmorphers. Although, I would be surprised to find out that the Sharknados aren't their most profitable enterprises (and I always wonder why Sharknado over any of the others? Catchy title I guess.) given the tie-ins and merchandising. Still, the Sharknado episodes always make me wish that I smoked pot. I think I would enjoy the Sharknados a lot more stoned. -

I would be very curious to see the financials on The Asylum. What I am trying to say is that for them to keep making Sharknado movies, they just have to be at least as popular as the other stuff that they churn out and that is probably a very low bar. Even if Sharknado 4 has half of the audience of S3, and S5 has half of the audience of S4, if they're above Dam/Ice/etc Sharks (and they keep the budget low) then they will still probably make a Sharknado 6. -

I think they can and will push it pretty far. They churn out a ton of terrible low budget monster/disaster movies, they essentially have to do worse than something like 3-Headed Shark, or whatever movie they do that is a similar concept to Sharknado, but without any of the buzz. -

Y'all gonna watch Sharknado 4 this weekend JIC? (I have been super busy working on a project at work) -
This would be better for a podcast called "That shit was fucking crazy dude!"

I forgot that Robert Baratheon and VISION were in that movie.

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991)
Lando replied to jarrycanada's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
The Marlboro Man duh. -
Ok, I'll get back to the work of deciding which Daniel and Stephen Baldwin movies should be done on HDTGM. Daniel is in Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man and Vampires, which are both excellent picks. Stephen just has so many bad movies as of late (some of them don't appear to be overtly religious, but it's hard to tell) and without having seen any of them I can't really tell if they're fun bad or boring bad. There is one called 20147 Sights of Death that sounds really bad and I am a sucker for a dystopia so I may have to watch that.
-
Fair point, like i said I have yet to see it so I took the "person in costume" comment to include prosthesis. But now it just makes Superman look super lazy.
-
And is this the first Baldwin movie for HDTGM? I really hope that it's not the last and each Baldwin gets a turn on HDTGM. Edit: Nope, Alec was in Pluto Nash. But I still hope that each brother gets a movie. Edit 2: And how could I forget Fair Game? Well, I guess it was easy to forget. Ok, let's get Stephen and Daniel represented.

Only The Shadow knows.

I have not been able to watch The Shadow yet, but putting on that costume seems very very elaborate to me. I mean, if there is a crime going down does he have to take an hour or so to put on his disguise before going out to investigate? Plus, isn't the movie set in the 1930s? (and this was making fun of professional wig technology in the 70s)

Sounds like season 3 of Homeland to me.
