Holy shit, this movie is airing on TCM on January 10th. That's TCM, Turner Classic Movies and not TMC The Movie Channel: http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/505521/Miami-Connection/

I think my mind just exploded at the idea of Andrei Tarkovsky's Tango & Cash

If they had chosen The World Is Not Enough there would have been a great tangential string. Sophie Marceau who is in TWINE was the Demi character in the French version of LOL, BUT she was also the Angelina character in the French movie that episode 11's The Tourist blatantly ripped off, Anthony Zimmer. Then again, maybe she should never ever appear directly in a HDTGM movie only in the French versions that are remade into Hollywood flops.

I think Paul was overselling that 'badness' of View to a Kill - maybe to justify doing it on the podcast.
Â
His mocking of the trailer was weird - it was just like every other action movie trailer from the '80s.
Â
It seems like this is just an excuse to crossover with James Bonding, which is fine.
Â
But View to a Kill is a middle of the road Bond movie - there are at least five (Moonraker, Tomorrow Never Dies, Die Another Day, The World is not Enough and Quantum of Solace) that are WAY worse in my opinion.
Â
I know, this one doesn't even have Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist.

Thankfully View To A Kill was added to Netflix 12/1

I just watched this and I liked it more than I had expected to. It's not a bad movie, but I think that they definitely could do this movie. As a comedy, some of the jokes do work, but others just seem like odd choices (the whole thing about the father's movie); as a romance, it's quite flimsy and things develop really quickly and for almost no good reason (although I admit that Mark is a dreamboat); and as an action film things unfold in very bizarre ways.

This movie has been making the rounds on Cinemax, I keep meaning to catch it

Oh god, I had forgotten that Miley needed some serious nasal irrigation for the VO. The director never thought to tell her to go blow her fucking nose in the middle of recording it?

I personally agree with "surviving Christmas". its an excruciating experience. although, I would love to hear them talk about "coopers Christmas". it may very well be the funniest Christmas movie of all time. trailer:full movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnT1O2ptoQQÂ
Seconded. Christmas should be a time to do Ben Affleck movies.

I thought this was silly (especially the computer that gave attitude about it not having the capacity to have attitude), but didn't hate this movie. That said, it would make a good movie for the podcast.

And those were the same visionaries behind Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem, arguably the sixth best film in the Alien series!
Â
They also directed a Nickelback video thank you very much.

Wasn't the first one a flop? Maybe it has had huge dvd/on demand success.

I think Michael Caine might be in the elite club of having both a 0% movie and a 100% movie on Rotten Tomatoes. 0% for Jaws 4, 100% for Alfie. It's almost not fair since both of those movies came out long before the internet, but I have yet to come across anyone else on RT who has been in a decent number of movies with that same distinction.

Not going to lie, as frustrating as NYSM was, I'd probably give the sequel a shot because I will want to see if they can top the inanity of the twist of the first one.

I wonder if one of the regular posters here is Scotty Auks...

I hope this isn't the last George Romero movie because the later "Dead" movies are pretty fucking bad.
-
oh hahahaha I guess my expectations of Liotta are so low that I didn't question the idea of him being in a low budget movie and with what happened with the Expendables 3 poster I didn't question this at all.

Wow that poster looks thrown together. It's like they caught Liotta in the middle of a DeNiro impression

From what I remember of Monkey Shines there was a lot of sneering and for some reason I have a problem with movies with a lot of sneering.

Did you know one of fall's best romantic comedies is named after ChristianMingle.com? ChristianMingle is a love story with some serious soul. Watch the trailer and see why!

Â
This movie seems like it was MADE for the show.
Â
I was watching the trailer and thought "that looks like Gretchen Weiners, but naw...can't be..." holy shit! Regina George maid of honor?
Â
I like to joke that if you sign up at Christina Mingle it prepopulates your favorite movies with "The Passion of the Christ."

I agree completely about coming to this subforum to discuss bad movies with everyone else and that Paul, Jason and June have limited ability to take on films. That said though, I think that they could make better use of FYI. Shariq did an amazing job making it and I think that maybe twice a year they they could pick out a handful of movies and for a couple of months Paul direct people to the site in the minisode to vote to do a "listeners choice" film. That would probably be a good balance. Also if this subforum was called "Bad Movie Discussion" it would probably set people's expectations a little more accurately.

We're going to be so let down. None of these movies are going to get picked! Hahahhaaaaaa
Â
I am rarely let down when I watch a movie that Paul picks.
-
Watch Best Worst Movie because that is a thoroughly entertaining documentary about Troll 2, especially since you obviously like the whole "so bad it's good" phenomenon.

Miami Connection (1987)
in Bad Movie Recommendations
Posted
I regularly DVR true classics on TCM. I recently recorded the Ingmar Bergman faith trilogy, so they do mostly stay true to their name. I'm going to DVR Miami Connection though because it is awesome and if they do get some sort of Neilsen rating off our DVRs I want to send the signal that Miami Connection is in demand.
