"Mom: be with this guy. I want him in our lives" - Brody

LOL Aaron's favorite book is Ender's Game. Orson Scott Card is seriously a horrible little goblin of a man; he's a right-wing extremist, racist, cruel, etc. I did love that book as a kid though!
-
I used to shop at Wheatsville co-op in Austin when i lived there too! memories.
-
Aaron regularly sucks on his own fingers "for comfort" ?? (::shudder: Also what the fuck, this is not a vocab word....it's a fictional attack from a video game. Next week's vocab word, 'tatsumaki senpukyaku'! Aaron step up yo game

PS THIS IS MY FAVORITE EARWOLF SHOW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY
-
I think even Kris' explanation up there is a bit confusing! it's just about unusual time signatures. that's it
-
It's been funny hearing people try to describe this fairly dumb genre (which barely exists at this point anymore) over the course of a year, in seemingly random ways every time! I'm not a "math rock" fan either but yeah its just about TIME SIGNATURES. That's where "math" comes from... it has nothing to do with computers, it's not "all about the drums", etc. It's just "weird" time signatures, within the music. That's IT! It's often instrumental.

It's a Cain mutiny

hey chill out plonkie

@Jared I understand what you're saying but the most delightful part of the podcast was tig trying to cajole kyle into coming out about his hidden abuse memories

>>>>>"Quickest way to embarrass yourself on our forums: Complain about our incredible, one of a kind musical performances." Doug is just straight-up insulting people who don't share his musical taste here. Sure Doug, real embarrassing to not listen to overly-earnest singer-songwriters in 2011. Oops, I've totally outed myself!
-
>>>>>>"That's a shame. You should really go back and listen to all those Reggie Watts performances you fast-forwarded through." Obviously no one is talking about Reggie Watts, who is awesome. There are at least four people here saying they don't like the music performances, and that's out of what, 10 people total commenting?

are you on the team or not kid?
-
literal LOL @ kyle "she sounds *horrible*"

did anyone else's podcast go blank when they announced the commercial break after 30something minutes in, and then there was like an 8min blank space in the mp3 until they came back around 39:00 ??
-
Kyle if you come out w/ a comedy CD pls call it "Scratchin' the Hatch"
-
I was convinced that it was some kind of dance music vocals until about 26min in where it was clearly audibly PFT yelping!
-
also legit LOL at david explaining the scientists were hearing the explosion from the big bang echoing

re: Michio Kaku, most of the time he's simply explaining the tenets of whatever theory he's been asked to explain by the TV interviewer. if one were to simply press him further, he admits that these are "theories", of course! when he states "there are x number of multi-verses", he means "in said theory", not that its definitely true and akin to religious doctrine.
-
here we go again. david thinks the theories professional physicists have come up with, based on super advanced math, is "the same as" the creation myth and Jesus Christ, based on the imaginations of pre-historic thinkers without modern science. karl pilkington!

I was on board with Scott's jabs at Phish until he said something like "This reminds me of the Counting Crows, who I like a lot!", without irony Phish are corny but The Counting Crows are on a whole other level of corny Dad music
